It was given to us by God,
and the universe,
to celebrate our children
and grandchildren.

Doors
I became aware
that everything is dying
and I shrugged and shuffled
and sauntered
on my way.
I became aware
that I am dying
and a stark vision
of doors stopped me
with alternatives
and choices and

of compassion
