Fellow Blogger…

Fellow blogger,
do you not marvel
at what you have done?
You have harnessed a singular energy burst
from deep within, honed and refined it
and with a few clicks of a keyboard
sent it to the other side of the world
to streak across a distant starry night
announcing I, too, am Life.

Open to the Spirit

Writers, when you are
open to the Spirit within,
your words are used
to co-create the world.

To Writers Everywhere

Do not withhold
your words from the world
out of pride or anxiety
or concern for success;
rather entrust them
to the winds of the universe
that the wings of the Spirit
may receive and enfold them
and carry them to those hearts
and minds that secretly wait for them
with unspoken need.

Simple Words

writer-360790_1280

We strain
for top shelf,
fancy words
that will impress,
but often find
it’s the heartfelt,
simple words
that bless.

Writer’s Block

I finished the verse
and thought to myself,
What a clever guy am I.
Then sitting a little taller
I could write not a thing
till a month and a half
went by.

WordPress Bloggers

If you are as displeased with the latest format of the WordPress “Reader” as I am and as I have discovered others to be I urge you to inform WordPress of your discontent. I am especially unhappy about how the Reader presents some material written in poetic form. They need our feedback.

An Open Poem to WordPress

If you’ve had your verse posts mangled in the “Reader” section as I have, let WordPress know.

Dearest WordPress,
I must confess
Lately, you’re playing with fire

The reader, you see
Has lost harmony
Line breaks is what we desire

Words jumbled together
It’s hard to tell whether
The verses are supposed to be mixing

Since I pay for my site
Hoping you’ll see the light
What ain’t broke, doesn’t need fixing

Better listen today
To what I have to say
Trust me, I’m not being coy

Take your Beep Beep Boop
And retire this goop
It’s obvious these changes annoy

You know how writers are

You know how writers are… they create themselves as they create their work.
Or perhaps they create their work in order to create themselves.”
