This SPRING banner is the FIRST completed project with my new Silhouette Portrait cutting machine.

Be My Valentine Giveaway!

This year, I decided to get out my hand painted jello mold tree that I normally only display during Christmas in my kitchen.




I removed any ornaments that looked Christmasy, then added red glass heart ornaments tied with black and white check ribbon. 




Now it's officially my "Be My Valentine Tree" as part of the limited amount of Valentine decor that I have.

Blogversary Today and Winner!

Today is a very special day for me. A year ago, I decided to share not only my voice, but my creations with you and started my blog. Today, my stats are:

That's more than one new post every other day!!!  I didn't know I had that much to share:)

On November 14th, I will celebrate ONE YEAR of my Forever Decorating! blog website. I went from one follower to 897, over 430,953 page-views and 249 posts. I am so amazed at those numbers. And, it has been the sweetest year of gaining personal friendships with YOU.

To celebrate, I am giving away this tray that I handpainted with the word EAT, a rose teacup and an assortment of teas and coffees. Also a lovely vintage dresser scarf.

I wanted to share a really lucky day that I had last Tuesday AND why it could be YOUR lucky day soon!

I went to my clients home to decorate but had to be at my local spa by 3pm for a discount party, since I was treating myself to a massage the very next day, I wanted it at a discount if I could...and I did.

Anyway, I was getting ready to leave after I paid for my purchases (make-up, massage and facial), when they told me to hang around for 5 more minutes because they would announce a give-away. Reluctantly, I stayed even though I was tired from my earlier day of decorating.  They called out a number and guess what? It was MINE! I had won $125 in products!!!  That was certainly worth the extra 5 minutes.

At 8pm my giveaway was over and I used the Random Number Generator to select a Winner to make it fair and square.

Quick and EASY Wall Fun and Giveaway!

Before I tell you about the give-away (sorry, this giveaway is over) , I will tell you how to have decorating fun for only $7.50!

Yep, $7.50 is all it cost and it looks like this...
I went to TJ Maxx and purchsed this...

Sorry it's blurry...it's not your eyes. But this does exactly what it says, Peel, Stick, remove and reposition. Easy, Fast and Inexpensive.

After I was done. I realized that I could keep the bird outline part and use it as a stencil once for another project. It would stick down, I could stencil it in black silhouette then throw the stencil away. Now I will have to do another project...maybe a bird silhouette pillow?

And did I tell you it makes enough for two birds on limbs with leaves? Yea, all for $7.50!! The best part to me other than it being cheap and easy, is that when you get tired of it, just peel it off and no harm to your walls. If you are like me, my taste changes almost on a daily basis and I change things around all the time. This happens when you become an empty nester, stay at home wife and love decorating!

So while we are on the hall wall, I will show you how I decorated it with my children's pictures.

Purchased at Hobby Lobby. Loved the silhouettes of boy and girl. Instead of putting in their pictures, I just added their names and a heading of "Our Kids". Instant art.

My kids when they were young.

Daughter's hand print when she was 2 years old.

Son's hand print when he was 5 yrs. old. I cross-stitched the saying, "This is to remind my mommy, when I've grown so big and tall, that once I was a little boy and my hands were very small."

My kids at ages 10 and 1 1/2 years old. I used material to cover the mat.

The above picture was of my daughter's hands. The hands were blue, yellow (which has faded to almost gone) and pink to represent tulips. The sides of her hands were used to make the green leaves and stems. She was 2 when I did with with her. She is now 20. Click on any picture to enlarge for viewing details.
