Part 11459p01.dat colour combinations

Currently part 11459p01.dat has the handle hard coded and the plunger part as colour 16.

If its swapped the other way around the part can then be used for the 2 other versions of the part since only the handle colour changes between 11251pb01 to 11251pb03 and the plunger part is always red rubber.  Is that OK to change or do 2 other versions of the part need to be uploaded instead?

It would be more efficient to have one dat file cover all the parts IMO.

It's always tricky to define the base color of a 2-molded part as usually only one color version exists when we do it. Changing the base color is possible but would require obsoleting current version, so it's easier to simply submit other shortcuts. 
And I can find only 2 different versions, what's supposed to be the 3rd one?

Ah yeah there are just 2 not 3 of them it seems.

At one point (and by "one point" I mean 1997    ), it was suggested to be able to have more than one assignable color, which would solve the basic question here. Did anything ever come of such a proposal?
