I’ll start with “Hello! Remember me?!”. I last posted back in late February 2023 when things were really looking up. Finally, my severe back injury had mended, the pain had gone away, I could walk without a stick, and my reading and blogging mojo had returned! Just a couple of weeks later I suffered the first symptoms of what would turn out to be cancer.

Here I am eight months later after two surgeries, one very major surgery, and weeks and weeks of gruelling bloody awful daily treatment, not to mention utter anxiety, worry and dread. And not just for me either. A cancer diagnosis affects deeply those who love you the most and they deserve the biggest hug in the world for being the rock you cling to and stand on to prevent yourself from drowning. I don’t know yet if it’s all been successful but I’m optimistic, most of the time.

And finally I have begun to read again! Even more than that, I actually want to start engaging with the world again and finding out what the book world is up to. I did read a few books over the last few months but mostly I just picked at them. Now my kindle is full and I look forward to reading each day. I even read a whole book this week! And it wasn’t a short one, either.

So I just want to say that I’m still around, I’m doing well and I’ve missed you! I’ll be prattling on about the books I’ve read very soon. Sorry about that…..
