It's A Good Day....

Hi everyone, hope you all had a good bank holiday!! David and I took Mum with us to a Land Rover show at the week-end, she's always loved to come with us but it was quiet a struggle for her to get around even with the little walker we bought her.  We had a lovely picnic at lunch time, then Mum and I sat in the sunshine while David went and had another look around on his own.  I feel quiet sad as she's always loved the shows but it's a bit too much for her now.. but we had a lovely day all the same and the weather was kind to us too!

Well it's time for another challenge over at 'Papertake Weekly' and this week you have a lovely variety of options to choose from, or you can incorporate all of them if you like.... I have chosen to do Dawny's lovely sketch plus the colour choice of Blue and Green... Do pop along to the main challenge blog and see all the options.

Christmas in July

Good morning everyone, Time for another challenge over at 'Papertake Weekly' and being the first of the month it's Anything Goes with the option of Christmas.. it's only an option though, I promise myself every year to start early for Christmas so this is the ideal opportunity, so here is my first Christmas Card for this year.  LOTV are our sponsors this week so I have used an image from one of the pre-coloured art pads 'Festive Foliage'.  I love the colours in this image and have embellished it with some gorgeous deep red velvet lace from the Ribbon Girl, I should of ordered more of this as I think it's going to become a favourite on my cards!.. After taking thousands of photo's this is the best one I could come up with, but it still doesn't show the true colours of the card, they all match so beautifully, right down to the pearls which you can't see very well... I made the poinsettia from a Spellbinders die and the foliage is a Marianne holly die, also the papers are by Marianne too.. I love this Christmas pad!

Challenge Entered
Christmas Card Challenges - #31 Anything Goes
Craftyhazelnuts Christmas Challenge - Lets Get Sentimental

Our sponsors this week are LOTV and are offering a £10 voucher to the winner, so do join us this week, we would love to see your fabulous cards, also do pop across and see what my fabulous teamies and guest designers have made.

That's it from me for today but before I go I must just tell you this, all the challenges I entered on my last card, except for one, I forgot to link up lol!! There is still time to link some of them up so that's what I'm going to do when I get home from work later lol!!  I don't know what's wrong with me at the moment lol!!

You all take care...

I'm a papertake girly lol!!!  So on with the show lol!!  being the first Tuesday of the month, It's Anything Goes at 'Papertake Weekly' with an option to make something that reminds you of Summer or has a Summery Theme... and that fits in with this lovely fairy stamp that Debs bought me for my birthday, what could be more Summery than this little fairy lol!!! I think she is waiting for the sun to come out from behind those clouds lol!! After I had stuck them down, I realized I should really have had the sun shining brightly... but she looks like she's having a wonderful time sat there on her little Lily pad lol!! I made three versions of this card and just couldn't seem to get it right, but finally decided on this design, I wanted to make her centre of attraction, and I think she steals the show don't you lol!!! I used my inktense pencils to colour her.

Just To Say....

Hi everyone, here we are nearly out of May, can you believe it, where are these weeks going too!!.. hope you all had a fabulous bank holiday week-end, we have been painting and getting things ready so the estate agents can come and take some photo's of Debs house. I am happy and sad when I think about her moving, but it's a fabulous opportunity for her and Candice.... but I will miss seeing them every day.. although we do have skype, so I think that will be well used lol!!

Anyway onto today's challenge over at 'Papertake Weekly'.. Dawny has done a lovely sketch for us, but as always you can choose one of the older ones if you prefer, which are here!... I love using a sketch, as it's a good place to start especially if Mr Mojo has gone walk about lol!! Sorry about the pants photo, the colours are not really true as the ribbon is a lot lighter and co-ordinates much better in real life, I've been trying and trying to get a decent photo, but this is about the best... sorry!  I have used this gorgeous fairy stamp that I won at LOTV and she is called 'Petal' isn't she just lovely.  I think she can be used for so many different occasions.   I have finally got around to having a go with my inktense pencils, they are a lot different than my distress pens but I love the vibrant colours, but I need a lot of practise with them.  This is a very glittery card as I've used lots of star dust stickles and also some liquid pearls.  The papers are also from LOTV.

What I used

Papertake Weekly - A lovely Sketch

Good morning everyone,
Hope you all have had a fantastic week-end, the weather hasn't been too bad has it... just cold bbrrr!  Can you believe we are almost out of March already.  David and I are going to Germany this week as it's our Grandsons 6th Birthday, he is growing up so fast! Really looking forward to it.

Anyway on to my card for today, it's Tuesday so it's time for another challenge over at Papertake Weekly which is a lovely sketch challenge.  You can use the new sketch that Dawny has done, or you can choose a different one from the lovely collection on the Papertake Weekly blog here, but remember it must be one of ours. I chose the new sketch, it was lovely to work with and I really enjoyed making it, once I had found my mojo as he did a little walk about this week lol!!

I used another LOTV pre-coloured art pad image from Set 3 'Wild Flowers'... I used a sprinkling of frantage around the edges, I love this stuff! (I did knock the whole jar over, but managed to scoop most of it up lol!!).. I've just had one of those weeks lol!!  It's lovely and sparkly as I used lots of Stardust Stickles on the flowers, butterflies and my flower at the bottom.  I also put a strip of navy and gold ribbon tucked under the blue panel, the photo doesn't show it up to well, but the little bit of gold really sparkles too.  The flower die is a gorgeous Tim Holtz die that I bought at the 'Harrogate' show last week, I think I'm going to get a lot of use out of this, and of course I used my old faithful 'Marianne' swirl die! butterflies are Martha Stewart all jazzed up with stickles and pearls.  I also popped the lovely doo hickey 'So wrapped, Lovely' Die into the side. The lovely papers are 'Petal Fresh' from LOTV by Mary Fran.

Challenge Entered
LOTV - Bingo (Ribbon, Pearls and Flowers)
Sister Act - Anything Goes
Brown Sugar - Anything Goes
Love to Create - Bingo (Flowers, Blue and Ribbon)

Hope you all have a 'FABULOUS' Mother's Day on Sunday, and hope you all get very, very spoilt.  When my kids were little I always got breakfast in bed (which David and the kids had put together) and we would all open my pressies together, me still half a sleep, but the kids loved it, and the kids would jump up and down on the bed with excitement and say 'come on Mum open your pressies, come on lol!!  It was fabulous, do miss those special times.  What would we do without memories hey! Talking about memory, don't forget to pop over to PTW and see the fabulous cards the other girls have made, lots of fabulous inspiration and a prize to be won too!...

Sorry I seem to have waffled on a bit here... Have a great week and take care...

Sketchy Free For All

Hello everyone, hope you all had a great week-end with lots of crafting thrown in!..  Whooo!! I'm feeling quiet happy today, I managed to order some lovely paper pads from LOTV yesterday, had a bit of a struggle at first trying to get on the site.. gave up and tried a bit later, really thought I would miss out again lol!! But NO.. they still had some stock!!  Can't wait for Mr. Postie to arrive now lol!!

My card today is for 'Papertake Weekly' which is a lovely sketch challenge. You can use any sketch as long as it is one of the Papertake sketches.  I chose to use sketch #80. The nice thing about sketches is they give you a good starting point, especially when Mr. Mojo has gone walk about, I love using them.  I really enjoyed making this card, the flowers were cut out with a Joy Die, really want to have a go at making some flowers, I have some gorgeous dies which I haven't known how to use properly so have been on the internet for some tutorials, so watch this space lol!!..   The gorgeous hearts are a Marianne die and I have ruffed up all the black card with some sand paper and scissors, the card is by Tim Holtz and is a dream to use for this sort of thing.  The gorgeous papers are from LOTV designed by Mary Fran.  The image is from one of LOTV art pads.

This is the sketch which I turned around so that the side was at the top

Oh Christmas Tree

Good Morning everyone.. at last I have managed take a photo of my Christmas card, in-between work, kitchen DIY and housework lol!! Debs and  I also managed to get to the Dome in Doncaster on Sunday for Paulas 'Stamp Magic' show ... I didn't buy very much just a couple of essentials.. what am I saying everything I buy is essential lol!!! , I did feel a bit guilty leaving David with the kitchen, but it was nice just for a couple of hours to have a browse and a cup of coffee with my best friend.. my lovely daughter:).   I met up with Carole another fellow crafter, a really nice lady who I met at the LOTV shop earlier in the year and we've kept in touch via email and have met up at a couple of shows we've been too, it was lovely to have a chat:)... anyway on to my card... it's a LOTV image called 'Oh Christmas Tree' and I coloured it with my distress pens, I do looove these pens as blending is so easy with them..I'm itching now to get some more colouring done lol!!  A bit of a photo overload I'm afraid...

I thoroughly enjoyed making this card... I heat embossed the card, poinsettia and leaf edges in gold.  I also heat embossed around the edge of the tag...  I added glamour dust to the fur hat and coat edges, and used stickles stardust on the snow (a little tip from Anne xx).  I faux stitched around the edge of the image which was coloured with distress markers and a little prisma pencil.  I used my new doohickey heart tag.. ( I think everyone in blog land has one of these now lol!!) but it is soooo lovely:)  I added ribbon, gold lace, pearls and a pearl brad for the centre of the poinsettia.  The lovely memory box star is one of my favourites at the moment! Papers are 'Merry Little Christmas' by Marianne.

Wild Flowers

Good morning all, where does the time go to?... We are busy replacing our kitchen at the moment, David and I decided to do it ourselves as the fitting costs were astronomical, and I am also working extra hours at work so no time to sit and relax lol!!  I did go to the Harrogate show though a couple of weeks ago... Debs and I had a fabulous time and bought some lovely goodies...  I managed to get my hands on the new paper pads from LOTV they really are gorgeous, and they can also be used for other occasions not just Christmas, so good all rounders:) I watched a lovely demonstration on embossing and can't wait to have a go with my new embossing powders, also picked a few tips up on stamping and inking. It makes all the difference when you are shown the correct way on how to use the tools you have!
I still haven't managed to take photo's of my cards I made with my distress inks, as the kitchen is taking up a lot of time and energy.. I think projects like this make you realize you are not as young as you were lol!!! But we are getting there and it will be worth it in the end:)

A peek at the inside

I made this card for Debs birthday, the image is from LOTV's art pads and I have used frantage on the sides. The little tags are also from LOTV . The paper is called 'Pretty in Pink' by Glitz. I distressed all the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink, sorry I can't remember what colour I used now, I think it was Victorian Velvet.... the layout is a 'paper take weekly' sketch, which I was going to enter, then missed the deadline lol!!  There is a lovely new challenge also starting at The Ribbon Girl for Lili of the Valley products, so click here and have a look.. happy crafting:)..

Challenges Entered

Fairy In Flight

Good morning everyone, only one more week to go and I'm on holiday yaaah!!!!  I won't be blogging for a couple of weeks, but hopefully will have scheduled posts for my Make it Monday DT.
I have really enjoyed the Olympics too, It was so emotional yesterday to see the final athletes compete, and what a finish with the boxing!! and what about those flash backs of the winners, I was a drained wreck by the end of the day!!..I think they were all winners as they all gave everything they had..well done to team GB!! I'm so proud of them!!  I think all the countries that have competed have worked so hard too!!  It has been a fabulous fortnight...
So onto my card for today's Make it Monday Linky Party 102#, we are being sponsored by the fabulous Digi Doodle store this week and I chose this lovely image called Fairy In Flight.... Afraid I have a bit of a photo overload today.....

A close up of the papers, they really do sparkle beautifully.....the ribbon looks very blue on the photo's but on the card the colours all work together so well..it is more greeny.  Also put stardust stickles around the image, I've seen this on so many images and just love it!!

This view you can see the distressing I used on the papers...it almost made me cry when I took a nail file and roughed up (sorry I mean distressed lol!!)  all sides of that gorgeous paper, then put picket fence distressing ink on top!!  In real life it does look quiet lovely though!  I have used Glamour dust on her wings and stickled all around her with Stardust Stickles, then distressed the edges with aqua chalk ink.

The inside

This image is the first one I did and I used stickles on the wings, and it all went funny...I should have known better, as I've done it before lol!!  So I thought I would decoupage her wings to cover it up, but it wasn't very successful.  I just thought I would show you what she looks like with clouds behind as well, she really does look like she is flying!

The light doesn't do the colours justice as the card is actually a lovely shade of Aqua and Pink..do you like that lovely feather sticking out of the flowers...picked these up at the last Doncaster show...they really are lovely!
I have used First Edition papers called Isabelle, Aqua Bazzill card, lovely lace, ribbon, flowers, and corner are all from Wild Orchid Crafts , coloured her with Prisma Pencils, distressing inks Tim Holtz and the lovely spellbinders die is called Lacy ovals. I also used a Marianne Swirl die.  My corner was originally silver but I painted it with White Acrylic paint...I have tried to buy some Gesso, but they wanted about £30 pounds for a tin, I only wanted to buy a small amount, as it will last me for ages lol!....the acrylic paint seemed to work just as well!

I would like to enter the following challenges

The DigiDoodle Shop is giving away a $10.00 Store Gift Certificate to the lucky random winner!  All you have to do is leave a comment on another entrants card and mention you saw them at MIM...so the more comments you leave the more chances you have of winning.....good luck!!!

My pick for this week was again so difficult so I had to choose two this week because I just couldn't decide so in no particular order.... I chose this gorgeous creation by Darlene....Isn't this just so beautiful...love the colours and the gorgeous Vintage style, do go over to Darlene's blog and take a closer look.

Now isn't this just so cute!!  I had a smile on my face all day.. Tracy is so talented and I can stay on her blog for hours admiring her lovely work... the white at the back is a gorgeous panel that Tracy weaved she has a tutorial on her blog on how to do it....so do pop over and take a look and leave her some love too!!

That's it from me for now guys....hope I've left you with a smile on your face...have a great week....
