Sid Terror's Undead
Sid Terror's Undead helped originate, define and spearhead the early Horror Punk sub-genre, kicking open the doors for all that followed, especially on the West Coast. 1977 to present. One of a small and select handful of bands (along with The Cramps, The Damned, and later The Misfits) to originate and spearhead the "Horror Punk" genre. Fiercely original and independent, Sid Terror's Undead were the only group of the four to resist affiliation / distribution with a major label, thus have retained their purity and creative integrity. Though they received offers, refusing to sign with a major label has made them the least known, but they have retained their underground status by staying out of the mainstream. Sid Terror was already a Horror movie Historian and megafan long before starting Sid Terror's Undead, with the band's earliest incarnations beginning to evolve as early as 1975. The real start of the band we have come to know it now emerged publically in the Spring and Summer of 1977. The bands music and image combined Sid Terror's life-long interests in Horror Movies, Rock 'N' Roll, and the Juvenile Delinquent lifestyle of the 1950's... Coming together to create a sub-genre of music that came to be known as "Horror Punk"... A way of sardonically viewing the world and making social commentary, through the dark and ironic humor of Horror movie filter.
