Menattallah Elserafy a republié ceciMenattallah Elserafy a republié ceciOne in three researchers have no access to quantum research facilities, heavily limiting its potential in fields including healthcare, computing, cybersecurity and climate modelling, according to a UNESCO report released today. ‘The Quantum Moment: A Global Report, Outcomes of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology’ shows there are stark North-South divides in access to the technology, with Europe and North America holding seven times more quantum science events per country in the past year compared to Africa. Findings also highlight a persistent gender gap, especially among senior level quantum researchers. Menattallah Elserafy a republié ceciMenattallah Elserafy a republié ceciIn times of crisis, we often focus on response. But how we manage data during those moments is just as critical. UNESCO, together with CODATA, has launched a global survey to better understand how organizations prepare to handle data in case of crisis and in line with open science principles. The survey builds on the Data Policies for Times of Crisis (DPTC) Facilitated by Open Science Toolkit, supporting more coordinated and responsible data use across sectors. In practice, it asks key questions: - Are roles and responsibilities clearly defined? - Do institutions have adequate resources? - How are ethics and human rights protected? - Is data usable and shared effectively when it matters most? From experience, gaps in data governance often become most visible during emergencies. 📝 The questionnaire takes 10–15 minutes 📅 Deadline: 11 May 2026 Access link: https://lnkd.in/eePEdYJr If you are involved in data management or crisis response, your input would be very valuable. #OpenScience #Data #CrisisManagement #DisasterRiskReduction #ResilienceCall for participation: UNESCO and CODATA survey on open science forCall for participation: UNESCO and CODATA survey on open science for
