Today, two of Europe’s leading AI companies are joining forces, to expand Mistral's category leadership as the partner of choice for industrial companies solving the world's hardest problems. Now reaching deep into Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering. Not even two years ago, Johannes Brandstetter, Miks Mikelsons and I started Emmi with a conviction that industrial simulation and physics would become one of the defining frontiers of AI, and that Europe had every right to lead it. We achieved more than we set out to do in this short window of time: • We built the leading AI research lab for industrial engineering. • We showed, again, that Europe has the power to bring novel technologies to the world. • And we did it with a team that chose science, depth, and substance over noise. Looking back from today, I clearly gained more grey hair and a few more kilos than I had originally planned for, but I can say without hesitation that every single minute has been worth it. Now we get to scale this forward with one of the strongest Research, GTM and Solution organizations on the planet. A massive thank you to the people and institutions who backed us from day one, when our seed round was the largest in Austria's history and frequently doubted out loud: Speedinvest ( Andreas Schwarzenbrunner, Oliver Holle ), 3VC ( Peter Lasinger, Eva Arh ), Serena ( Guillaume Decugis, Juliette Ast ) and PUSH ( Laurenz Simbruner , Christopher Raithle ). You believed before there was anything to believe in but us. Arthur Mensch, Guillaume Lample, Timothee Lacroix - the journey just started!

Stanislas Pesic a partagé ceciWe’re launching an open application for start-up founders to join Mistral AI ⭐ Some of the best people on our Solutions team are ex-founders. We realized it's because the environment is very similar to running a company: high autonomy, real accountability, hard technical problems unlocking large-scale AI deals worldwide. Most of them didn’t join because they saw a job ad pop up, but because they were looking for the next thing worth building. So we built a track just for that. Founder in Residence is an open invitation for anyone who's founded, co-founded, or led a company and wants to deploy Europe's most advanced AI models inside the enterprises that need them most. This track is for people who've shipped under pressure, sold something real, and know what "skin in the game" means. Apply, chat with an ex-founder in Solutions, and we'll figure out the role that fits you best together. If you think you’re the right person for the role, come talk to Nicolas Schuhl or myself!

Stanislas Pesic a republié ceciStanislas Pesic a republié ceciToday, we’re introducing Forge, a system for enterprises to build frontier-grade AI models grounded in their proprietary knowledge. 🌍 Most AI models available today are trained primarily on publicly available data. They are designed to perform well across a broad range of tasks. But enterprises operate using internal knowledge: engineering standards, compliance policies, codebases, operational processes, and years of institutional decisions. 🔗 Forge bridges the gap between generic AI and enterprise-specific needs. Instead of relying on broad, public data, organizations can train models that understand their internal context embedded within systems, workflows, and policies, aligning AI with their unique operations. We have already partnered with world-leading organizations, like ASML, DSO National Laboratories Singapore, Ericsson, European Space Agency, Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX) Singapore and Reply to train models on the proprietary data that powers their most complex systems and future-defining technologies. 📖 Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eT-2y2_n

Building a Platform Cooperative on DAO Infrastructure. What if the platforms we rely on every day — for work, creativity, or connection — were owned and governed by their users? In my latest essay on Mutual Horizons, I explore how DAO infrastructure can empower platform cooperatives that combine automation, transparency, and shared governance. Key ideas: The cooperative movement meets blockchain: Mutualism in code. DAOs as programmable trust — enforcing fairness through transparent logic. Design goals for a cooperative digital economy: self-organization, reciprocity, and long-term sustainability. “Technology alone cannot guarantee fairness — but it can help us enforce it together.” This is the architecture of Post-Labor Mutualism — where participation replaces employment, and cooperation replaces extraction. The End of an Era at Meta: Why LeCun’s Bet on "World Models" Matters Yann LeCun’s departure from Meta tells us something about the LLMs and that the "Scaling Laws" debate is far from settled. Reading this article in Le Monde today, I found myself nodding along with his core premise. After multiple implementations of AI initiatives in productions based on LLMs and ML ($150M+ annual savings), I’ve hit the same challenges LeCun describes: ↳ The Probabilistic Trap: LLMs are statistical engines, and still struggle with reasoning. You can refine the weights, but you can’t engineer away the inherent stochasticity. ↳ The Determinism Gap: For enterprise applications, "mostly right" may not be enough. We need systems that can plan, reason, and understand cause-and-effect with high accuracy. Autoregressive text prediction fundamentally struggles to deliver them. LeCun is betting that World Models (learning from physical reality rather than just text) are the path forward. Given the architectural ceilings we're seeing with current Transformers, I think he’s right. We need better architectures. #AI #MachineLearning #YannLeCun #WorldModels #LLM #TechNews #AIUnleashed #LeadingWithAIAgents

We’re launching the Blue Fellowship 🌍 program because France and Europe host exceptional scientific talents, who deserve stronger, more proactive support from all of us across the ecosystem, VCs, founders and operators. The Blue Fellowship is created to better support them as they transition into entrepreneurship and run by Sofia DAHOUNE with the support of the daphni team. Its mission is to help around ten to twelve scientist-founders move from intent to action with zero fees and zero equity taken. The program targets scientists and technical founders who have already started their project or plan to launch within the next three to six months. It deliberately avoids ideation and broad market exploration, focusing instead on going from zero to one with strong foundations. Over ten weeks, fellows receive hands-on support to turn scientific breakthroughs into real companies quickly and confidently. The curriculum covers core early-stage fundamentals such as legal and cap table basics, market discovery, early product–market fit, team building, business planning, fundraising readiness, and founder mindset. Participants also gain access to a high-quality network of founders, investors, and operators who share practical experience from the first six to twelve months of company building. The program runs from February to April 2026 and combines online workshops with two in-person bootcamps in Paris. It concludes with a Demo Day attended by the daphni team, mentors, and invited guests. Apply here: https://lnkd.in/eCe5v3QJ

One of the most common mistakes founders make? Sacrificing hiring criteria and cultural fit to fill openings quickly. But the bigger question is: How do you spot misalignment before it costs you speed, culture, or team trust? Last week at Educapital Portfolio Day in Paris, I took the stage to discuss one of the most powerful multipliers for business growth: a strong corporate culture. Here are some questions you should ask yourself when hiring: 🔹Theory X or Theory Y? by D. McGregor Are you hiring for control and compliance (X), or for autonomy and self-motivation (Y)? Your answer shapes your culture. 🔹 Rockstar or Superstar? From Radical Candor by Kim Scott: Rock stars bring stability and consistency, while superstars seek velocity and change. Which one does your team need right now? 🔹 Which quadrant of the NFL Draft Board? The NFL Draft Board from Just Work helps map teammates by performance and collaboration. Are you hiring a Team Leader, a Specialist, a Team Player, or a Waver? Culture isn't something you add after scaling. It's how you scale. Big thanks to the Educapital team and Géraldine Fillet for the invite. It was a pleasure to join and share the stage.

In “The State of the French Tech Ecosystem 2025”, Alexandre Dewez's study identifies several strategies, including our Operating model. But for Serena, this approach wasn't a differentiation play. We just built the fund we wish we'd had as entrepreneurs. As former founders and operators ourselves (more than half of our team are former founders), we experienced firsthand that building category leaders requires more than just capital. It demands roll-up-your-sleeves operational work, especially in the earliest stages when foundations are laid: GTM strategy, team building, product development, fundraising approach. One that steps in from day one. One that establishes long-term relationships. One that brings capital, yes, but also the tools, experience, and a task force of experienced Operating Partners ready to tackle 100% of scaling challenges. 📊 The results speak for themselves ✅ 75% of our Seed startups reach Series A (vs. 29% average) ✅ In 17 months instead of 25 ✅ Our startups are 4.5x more likely to succeed in their next fundraising (source: Dealroom.co, which ranked Serena in the top 5% of value-add investors). Companies like Descartes Underwriting, Pelico, Electra, and Malt have benefited from this model since their earliest rounds. Today, they're establishing themselves as leaders in their respective categories. Many thanks Alexandre Dewez, for the feature! I’ve spent a lot of time lately talking to founders about where the "hype" ends and the real value begins. For Fintech, its Embedded Finance: not just a buzzword but reality; it’s the hard work of building financial tools directly into the platforms people use every day. We just released the latest Metis Emerge, and I’m really proud of the stories in this one: - Why we’re backing teams like wamo, Eloquent AI, Kamion, and Getmobil. - How we’re actually using AI / data to make better decisions (and help our founders do the same). - Metis is growing. I’m thrilled to welcome some brilliant new faces to the Metis Ventures family who are helping us move the needle.
