Atténuer ou renforcer ses propos

Atténuer ou renforcer ses propos

- [Narrator] And the point is to learn how to agree and disagree to different degrees. Now, you've already learned how the phrase I'm afraid can make a disagreement milder. Remember, Jennifer said, "I'm afraid I have to disagree with you." And Matt said, "I'm afraid we don't see eye to eye." Well, another way of making your statement stronger or milder is to use adverbs like completely or totally or absolutely. Listen to the difference an adverb makes in the sentences. You are right. You are absolutely right. There's a big difference, isn't there? And how about this one? I agree. I totally agree. Or I disagree. I completely disagree. See, an adverb can make a difference. A huge difference.
