My first book is now republished!

the history teacherI am excited to announce the rerelease of my first book, The History Teacher! I first published it in 2010 and decided to give it a makeover after the release of my second book, The History Teacher 2.0, which I published through a new self-assisted publisher, FriesenPress. Quite frankly, I wanted to clean it up a bit. It was my first effort, and grammatically, it needed some work. So it’s the same story, but a much smoother read! If you would like to check out the storyline, go to the Fred’s Books page.

All three of the books I’ve written [The History Teacher, The History Teacher 2.0 and The Christmas Choice], are available on FriesenPress and Amazon.

I am presently writing the third instalment of The History Teacher trilogy and hope to have it published by the end of this year. After that, I plan to begin writing, The Kid!

The Story Behind My Books

the-history-teacher-2-0People have asked me what prompted me to write The History Teacher books. It’s actually an interesting story [I think], so here goes!

In the winter of 2006, I was still working in the corporate world. I hadn’t yet made the transition to teaching martial arts full-time. One morning I woke up with an idea for a book in my head! I had no idea when the idea came from. I wasn’t thinking about writing a book. Divine guidance? More than likely!

The Story of Dog: Part 2 – Who We Really Are!

universeThis is a story I told the students this past week at the martial arts club where I teach.

I first told you about Dog in February. His mission is to help children feel good about themselves and more recently he had a very important message to convey to humanity. It was too important to tell everyone one person at a time, so he hatched a plan. He hopped on on a ship and traveled across the Pacific Ocean to China. There he made his way overland to Nepal. Once in Nepal, he headed straight for Mount Everest, the tallest mountain on the planet. The summit of Everest is so high there is insufficient oxygen to breathe and therefore, those who attempt to climb it must bring their own oxygen.

forestI have been asked, what is spiritual transformation? My answer is this. It is the process of becoming spiritually conscience. Buddhists refer to it as enlightenment. It’s when we begin to look at life differently. When we no longer see trees, as simply trees or people as simply, people. It occurs when we understand that there is a reason for our ‘being’ and that there is a reason for suffering.

A corporation took advantage of my father!

cell phoneA corporation did indeed take advantage of my father! A few months ago, he went to a local retail outlet looking for a cell phone. He explained that all he wanted was a very simple phone that would enable him to make phone calls and send text messages. He came home with a high end smart phone and a two year, $90.00 a month plan, including a $20.00 a month data plan. He was grossly oversold and because the phone is so complicated to him, he has never used it.

Oneness … Jon Anderson’s Synchronistic Experience

jon andersonI recently watched an interview with Jon Anderson, former lead singer with the progressive rock band, Yes. Yes produced a number of hits in the seventies and eighties with songs including Roundabout, Owner of a Lonely Heart and It Can Happen. Anderson talked about his career with Yes and his current musical interests. He also spoke about the interconnectedness of the universe.
