At Rosh HaShanah praying to the Bore and Guardian of Israel

Thoughts and emotions, deliberations and troubles surge through the depths of our souls where hopes and aspirations live in close proximity to despair and bitterness when looking what goes on in our world.

Last weekend was supposed to be the party for the Jewish New Year, or Rosh HaShanah. But a dark cloud lingered over us, with our hearts deeply saddened by it.

Clear that last year and this year we are not having the sound of the trumpet loudly. Yet the ram’s horn brings us the call to remember and dwell on the creation the Almighty has placed in our hands.

Bore and Almighty Souverain
in the world you created and gave to us,
we notice so much injustice, apathy, indifference, racism, transphobia and sexism.

We call unto you,

the Guardian of Israel
Who neither sleeps nor slumbers.
Let Your eye see what goes on
and not let it happen just like that.

Stay awake, we beg You Almighty God,

when the Jewish people are in a state of suffering.Across the abyss, I reach out to You my God
the guardian of Israel Who neither sleeps nor slumbers
for our protection.
These are my very last words that put the distractions of the day to bed
as I prepare for the darkness of night’s uncertainty.Protect me and my brothers and sisters during the night.

Also strengthen our resilience and ease our grief and pain.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains
and do know You are up high
looking at us.

I am sure that my help comes from You o Adonai,

Maker of heaven and earth.
Who will not let my foot slip.

What might happen to his present world,
Keep close to me
and guide me to safety.

You will watch over my coming
and my going
from this time forth
and forevermore.

Family meals time for warmth of togetherness

In Ukraine, in our family, it was the custom to gather at least once a day all together round the table. On the sabbath, each meal was a sacred moment of togetherness.

Sitting around the table with all the family was considered something sacrilege. It was also the time we took for each other to listen to each other and to talk about what happened to each other during the day. Family meals emerged as

the vibrant threads that weave generations together. {Family Meals | Family’s Meals that Define Togetherness}

During the moments of eating together, we were willing to feel each other’s heartbeat and support each other in every less pleasant event of the day, while we tried to pass on the fire of life to each other. In the end, we certainly did not forget that spiritual food gives the greatest added value to life.

As we delve into the heart of family traditions, we uncover the flavours, stories, and laughter that define these cherished gatherings, transforming a simple meal into a profound celebration of connection. {Family Meals | Family’s Meals that Define Togetherness}

Come here, in the West side of the European mainland, I see and hear from many children and families where there is no sense of togetherness to sit around the table together. Parents and children often eat separately and while they are glued to the television screen. No wonder I meet so many divorced families here. Even though we had much less than they have here in the rich west, we were much happier than most people here, who have much more than we ever dreamed of.

They seem to have forgotten the real values of life and how

Family meals transcend the act of eating; they encapsulate the essence of shared experiences around the table. These moments become the cornerstone of familial bonds, from the meal’s preparation to the shared laughter over dinner. {Family Meals | Family’s Meals that Define Togetherness}

Cooking together takes place here in a few families, but it is not exactly a daily or very regular occurrence. Perhaps they would better go back to that time when time was allocated for cooking together.

Startling statistics reveal that men experience kitchen anxiety, leading them to shy away from the culinary world.{From Panic to Passion: Unleashing Your Inner Chef}

Today people hear more from children who have found joy in cooking and are very happy to prepare something for the family or others. That promises to the future, if they, in turn, will pass on that taste for cooking to their children. Perhaps by those kids this world can come back to the time that

The dinner table transforms into a sanctuary where relationships are nurtured, stories are shared, and the warmth of togetherness is savoured. It’s a space where family members connect on a deeper level, creating a reservoir of memories that stand the test of time. {Family Meals | Family’s Meals that Define Togetherness}

Some changes at Worldviewer

Since March 14 the news website “Some View on the World” (one of the sites of Marcus Ampe) got some little sister. At first, it was coming out of the darkness of war, having to find a theme on WordPress I liked. Though not everything we like or want (very much), is as innocent as it looks like.

WordPress has emerged as one of the most popular and powerful content management systems (CMS) in the world, revolutionizing the way websites are created and managed. I could not pass it without comparing it to other systems and at last trying it out. The only problem which I encountered is that it perhaps concentrates too much on young people who are accustomed with modern technology or is there for it freaks, which I am not. The block editor for example is a disaster for me; I just can not work with it, though I tried it.

WordPress might be poised to empower individuals, businesses, and organisations to build dynamic, visually appealing, and user-friendly websites offering lots of themes, that meet the demands of the digital era and can please many eyes.

I started the website or blog “WorldviewerLooking at the world” with the intention to give some personal view on what is going on in this world, because I find it important that people should know what is exactly going on. Because a man from the North was telling the world lots of lies, I found it necessary to show this man his real face, but also telling to others what cruelty he does to mankind breaking with all human rights rules and agreements, as if such laws do not exist, and as if we do not need to be sorry for people who are at the wrong place at the wrong time.

The first theme I had chosen for my blog, at the home page only presented photographs without any text, but I did not have the intention to bring a photo blog, so I soon changed it to a theme I liked very much.
But with that theme (Cerauno), it seemed lots of advertisements showed up under my articles. Worse also was that my links to other articles and other people came into my and their spam box. Therefore, I searched for some themes that would not have a target to place advertisements as much as possible.

Is it part of the theme or is it a vulnerability or weakeness in it that others use to bombard people with unwanted material. Really, the adverts I also came to see where things which are not in accordance with my faith. so it could well be that

A backdoor was uploaded by the threat actors in the attacks that enabled them to perform command execution, inject ads on the website, and redirect users to malicious site. {Vulnerabilities in WordPress Theme}

Wanting to offer some news insights I want a site that is safe enough and can be considered a reputable news sources.

While cyberattacks remain a threat to news websites (and indeed all online platforms), there are steps you can take as an individual user to reduce your risk exposure. Stay informed about potential threats and adopt good cybersecurity practices – it could make all the difference in protecting yourself online! {Protect Yourself from Cyberattacks on News Websites: Tips and Tricks}

Avoiding that people would click on malignant advertisements, I prefer to reduce them to a strict minimum. Though readers should always be aware that I do not chose the advertisements and even have no say about them. So they always should be taken with precaution. I myself would always advise using an ad blocker, to avoid having all those intruding unwanted messages.

From Cerauno I went to Publication, which was not bad, but still had too many advertisements, and had the photoheadings cut in a difficult way.

At last I came to Gateway where I chose a lovely mauve colour. For a few days, I did not see a problem, until I myself, on a smaller screen and on an iPad, could not notice all the links I had placed in the texts of articles were not visible as links. That way I had done a lot of work for no use because nobody was able to see the link points.

Yesterday I did some editing work, searching and trying out all sorts of colour backgrounds and letters. I do hope I could find some nice background, to be appreciated by the readers coming along. You are invited to give an impression of my site, and it would be charming if you would come along more than once to have a read.

Together with “Some View on the World“, I try to form a complementary entity with my site “Worldviewer” that wants to bring honest news reports and shall not be afraid to express certain views on things happening today.

Additional reading

I do notice not many readers react when bloggers ask for their opinion on the use of one or another theme and concerning the layout.

Also concerning the use of WordPress the contemporary block-editor system or Gutenberg editing system does not look ideal either, so I am pleased that Classic editing is still possible.
