Sanctions are crippling the economy of ‘Fortress Russia’

March 4, 2022

A shuttered stock market, close to default, business boycotts and a rush to the cash machines: the Russia economy is on its knees just eight days into the invasion. The scale of the looming economic collapse has clearly alarmed Russia’s business elite following a tidal wave of Western sanctions with oligarchs close to Vladimir Putin breaking cover to criticise the invasion. JPMorgan warned on Friday that the country is facing a hit as great as Russia’s 1998 financial crisis, predicting an 11pc peak-to-trough GDP plunge. The Centre for Economics and Business Research expects a 14pc hit in lost output in Russia over two years.
Oil and gas is still flowing from Russia to Europe, keeping a vital revenue source for its economy and the Kremlin intact.  But shoppers and industries, including banking, shipping, aviation and retail, are already feeling the heat as the West severs economic ties and turn Russia into a pariah state.

In just over a week Russia has suffered an economic meltdown. And worse is too come. The Economist said this week that the sanctions introduced by the US / UK / EU on the 26th February are causing “financial mayhem” in Russia causing Putin to increase Russia’s nuclear alert level. With incredible foresight, Brother John Thomas wrote these words in 1848,

“Let the Russian treasury be as empty as it is said to be, and its expenditure exceed its revenue by double the alleged deficit, it will only operate as a pressure from within, causing her autocrat [Gog], to enter into countries, and to overflow and pass over, and to enrich himself with the spoil of those he is destined to subdue.”

Ezekiel wrote

And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords (Ezekiel 38:4)

The hook in the jaws is the lure of spoil in Israel (gas/oil) required by Gog to replace lost revenues in Europe…

Submarine ‘treason’ shows Britain is vassal state of US, say fuming French

France has labelled Britain an American “vassal” and denounced Australia for “treason” over its decision to cancel a €56 billion deal to buy 12 French diesel-electric submarines.
The Australian government has opted instead for more sophisticated nuclear-powered submarines from Britain and America; a move described by a furious Jean-Yves Le Drian, the French foreign minister, as a “stab in the back”. Le Drian announced on Friday that he was recalling France’s ambassadors to Australia and the US in protest, an extraordinary step among such close allies and a sign of the Macron government’s displeasure at having been given only a few hours’ warning of the change, made public on Wednesday.
Clément Beaune, France’s outspoken Europe minister, turned his fire on the UK.

“Our British friends explained to us that they were leaving the EU to create Global Britain. As you can see, it is a return to the American fold and accepting a form of vassal status,”

he told Public Sénat, a state television station.

Andy Walton in his Weekly World Watch comments:

Even though Britain could have forged this new agreement with the UK and Australia before Brexit it is highly unlikely they would have done so. Before Brexit, Britain was in the EU and would have been obligated to tell their partners of something like this. But post Brexit, Britain is looking to become a global power again and forge closer ties with the wider world outside Europe. This has incensed the French as this new nuclear submarine deal cancels their own deal with Australia costing France billions. Again with Bible in hand we see how this fits with Bible prophecy. Britain is NOT part of the EU alliance of nations (political Babel / Babylon) that come together under the false religion of Rome (spiritual Babylon).

Brother John Thomas understood this 150+ years ago!

Britain is not included in the ten toes. She is reserved of God to antagonize Russia” and “The ten toes belong to the image as a united dominion; hence Britain cannot be included among them. (Elpis Israel – written by John Thomas)

the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, (Daniel 2:42)

Who cries out against a hearty and uncompromising castigation of error

“I have never heard a man yet, thoroughly imbued with the Truth and love of it, cry out against a hearty and uncompromising castigation of error, as bitter and too severe.

Where men’s faith is weak, and their minds are full of uncertainty, and they are conscious that their own deeds will not bear the light, you will find them full of ‘charity’, and sensitively fearful of the corrupters and transgresors of the Word. They don’t want their feelings hurt lest it should do harm! The fact is they don’t want the Truth too plainly demonstrated, lest it should make themselves obliged to defend that of which they were not fully assured”

Bro John Thomas

The Spirit of liberty is the Spirit of Christ

The Spirit of liberty,
based upon the law of faith,
is the Spirit of Christ;
and this spirit all the Sons of God are privileged to possess,
and having it, to breathe.

I claim the right of exercising this privilege,
as well as my contemporaries;
and I require of them that they should do to me as once they loudly required others to do to them…

(written by John Thomas, the founder of the Christadelphians,
when he was against creeds in The Apostolic Advocate magazine, August 1836)
