John David Roy Atchison, Asst US Attorney in Northern Florida lists himself as a “family man”, he’s president of the Gulf Breeze Sports Association, a youth athletics organization and he’s been arrested in Detroit, MI by the FBI.
In the sting, he coerced the undercover agent who was acting as a mother of a five year old girl into letting him have sex with the child. Atchison and the undercover agent have a lengthy dialog on record as he tried to convince the “(agent) mother” to allow him access to the child for sexual intercourse. During the conversations between the two; Atchison promised the fake-parent that he wouldn’t ever (sexually/medically) “damage” the girl and he explained that he’s done this many time before.
In the deposition, detectives said Atchison suggested the mother tell her daughter that “you found her a sweet boyfriend who will bring her presents” (as a lure for the “child” to look forward to his arrival).
The undercover detective expressed concern about physical injury to the 5-year-old girl as a result of the sexual activity. Detectives said Atchison responded, ” I am always gentle and loving; not to worry, no damage ever, no rough stuff ever. I only like it soft and nice.”The undercover detective asked how Atchison can be certain of no injury. He responded, “Just gotta go slow and very easy. I’ve done it plenty,” according to detectives.

Atchison; convinced the child was available, and the “mother” was willing to let him have sex with her, grabbed a Continental flight out of Tallahassee and headed to Detroit via Dallas where he was arrested upon landing at the airport on Sunday. He was arraigned in the Michigan court today and he’s let the court appoint an attorney to defend him.
Atchison faces sixty-years in prison for this crime. From the FBI’s perspective, I found this from the Pensacola News Journal:
The agent, Linda Findlay, made contact with Atchison on Aug. 29 though online instant messaging software. During the conversation, Atchison referred to himself as “very much a family man.”
Between Aug. 31 and Sept. 12, Atchison had almost daily contact with Findlay. During several conversations, he described various sexual acts he wanted to perform with Findlay’s fictitious 5-year-old daughter.
He assured Findlay that the child wouldn’t require any medical attention after the sexual acts took place.
In relation to his party affiliation, I found this particularly interesting blogger-dude who noted that Atchison’s boss, US Attorney Gregory Miller, was appointed by George W Bush and was proud of his apprehension of pedophiles in the state of Florida.
…He calls himself a family man.
Atchison’s party affiliation isn’t given, but his boss Miller is a GOPer who was doing such a good job Gonzo didn’t need to have him fired, his priorities are the Bush administration’s priorities. Every single one of these bizarre pedophiles turns out to be a Republican…so strange, what HAS happened to the Republican Party to produce such deviant behavior. Hmmmm. Then again, perhaps Mr. Atchison was so busy coaching kids playing sports in Gulf Breeze he didn’t have much time for politics.

We tried to contact Michele Bachmann (R-MN 6-CD) and asked her if she was aware of the GOP Asst Attorney’s arrest and if she still believed that Gay Men and Women were the “True threat to the American Family“. We are still waiting for a reply.
A personal note: Roy Atchison’s wife is a science teacher at Gulf Breeze High School. My humble sympathies and deepest condolences. All school teachers hold a special place in my heart and will forever. Mrs. Atchison is alone in Florida tonight while her husband is in jail in Michigan and seeing a judge tomorrow for being a sexual-predator, a monster and a horrible Demon. My heart goes out to her and her community.
