warm weather!

FINALLY, some beautiful spring weather! :) I am so excited for farmer's markets!!! I have been dreaming about cucumbers..I love them SO much and the local ones are cheap and superb!!
Everything is going swell here! I've eaten all my mangoes and enjoyed them in a very nice way! This here is a (blurry) picture of me and my favorite smoothie of the week: banana, mango, spinach! I had about 8-10 of these babies throughout the week! It was delicious!!! I'm glad I stuffed myself with spinach because I have such a hard time eating greens because I prefer the sweet, juicy fruit! :)

Fortunately, I still have some dates left and I bought a bunch of oranges the other day, which I loooove oranges!
I can't believe how quick time flies by...in less than a month my boyfriend will be graduating and I'll only have one semester left until my graduation!! SO EXCITED! I can't wait to be done with college. For me, it has been such a waste of time and money and I can't wait to start fresh with my new passion in 80/10/10 nutrition!
In a few days(April 23) it will be my 3 months of 80/10/10 and then the 25th will be 1 month with no overt fats! I feel GREAT! I love the simplicity of eating fruit and I love how light and airy a fruit meal makes me feel. I have so much patience and confidence with this way of eating. I trust my body so much more. Despite the fact that I still struggle with acne, I have patience AND confidence in my body that it will heal in TIME and that's okay if it takes months or years. My eyes though, they shine like never before! :)

Peace & fruity love to everyone!

UGLI FRUIT

This is an Ugli Fruit and my short, but delicious journey with one :)

Poor guy...he's not THAT ugly!Looks pretty sexy on the inside...

DELICIOUS! mmm, the sticker said it was a cross bewteen a tangelo and grapefruit. It was a mellow citrus flavor and not very sweet like an orange but not tart like a grapefruit.
So, remember the picture of my moutain of cantoloupe in the last post?...well, I'm currently on Day 2 of "cantaloupe island"! They are so delicious and I'm loving the water content...I feel so hydrated and light as a feather :) I will probably only go for 2-3 days because I only have 24 cantaloupe
Plus, I am visiting my parents this weekend and I went to the fruit store down the street and bought 64 champagne/ataulfo mangoes!!!!!!!!!!! YAY! I got the guy down to .75 cents per mango and basically bought all the mangoes he had at the store, haha! LOVE THEM! :)
Unfortunately, it is another rainy and chilly weekend here in New England. blah. What I would do for a beauiful, sunny, 80 degree day!

my mountain of cantalope<3 yum yum, they were on sale, so I bought 24!

bananas with date sauce...just chopped uped 'nanas with a sauce made of dates and smidgeon of water...SO GOOOOOOOD! it is from the 80/10/10 book, so check it out :)

a favorite combo, strawberries and bananas
so, I've become a lover of celery. I never liked celery, even when it was smothered in peanut butter, so it is really cool that I have grown to appreciate this crunchy/salty vegetable!
today I have eat 14 naval oranges(yum) and 2 heads of celery...I plan on a basket of dates for dinner. for the rest of the week(until I go shopping on Friday) I will be eating 'nanas and celery and dates. I think I am going to bring cantalope for the weekend stay at my parents. I'm also hoping to get champagne mangoes while I am there! cross your fingers for me!
also, I forgot to mention that a local farm is taking all the fruit/veg scraps to feed to their piggy! I am so happy that I am reducing my waste this way! I can feel a bit guilty about all the produce being shipped thousands of miles, so this way I am offsetting it a bit :)
oh my, this celery is SO GOOD! peace :)

got the book!

yay, I finally got my copy of 80/10/10 after following the lifestyle for 2 months! I'm so happy I got it because it is chock full of helpful information and great recipes! I've been reading it non-stop since I got it yesterday and just soaking up the information..but I know I'll probably give it a second read. I'm also glad I got it because now I have something solid to share with my parents, my Mom and Dad are really looking foward to browsing the book so she can better understand my fruity choice :)
I really liked the information about fruit sugar and diabetes because I always have the "adults" at work telling me I should be careful, I'm eating too much sugar, blah blah blah...it can get annoying. I've also been able to really step out of the box and see things from a different perspective. I can understand now why people find it so difficult to break free of the SAD diet, not only is the food addictive, but the social activities attached to food are too. People are so afraid of this information because they don't want to loose the only social attachments they have, which are through food. I listen to the people ate school talk and make plans and those plans ALWAYS include food and alcohol...it really is all they have in common. For split seconds I will almost wish I could have that ignorance again, but then I remember that I don't want to trade my health for an acceptance by society.
Anyyyyways, I also got my 2nd order of dates in!!!!!! yay yay yay! I'm savoring every single one! I made the "Bananas with Date Sauce" from the 80/10/10..SO GOOD!!! My boyfriend and I were all smiles as we ate that for lunch!
It has been about a week and a half since I vowed to cut out all overt fats. So far, I'm feeling great and my skin is looking alot better!! I struggle with my skin alot and it has always been my confidence pitfall...it was also one of the reasons I chose to adopt 80/10/10. So far, things are looking up!!!
I also found a great new running trail today! It goes into the woods along a river. LOVE IT! I actually don't want to listen to my ipod because I enjoy the peace of the woods and hearing my own thoughts! My run didn't last very long today because it was alot colder than I thought so I was a bit under-dressed..but I'm hoping tomorrow it clears up and I'll be able to go on a longer run!
Well, everyone have a great weekend! Peace!

sun sun sun!

today is a nice day :) I am outside, soaking in some rays of beautiful sun! I won't say goodbye to snow and cold yet, because this is New England, but I am so thankful for the beautiful sunny, WARM days we have been having!!!
yesterday I went for another awesome run and I hope to do a repeat this afternoon! I can't believe how wonderful running has felt! I used to loathe running and it was the most difficult exercise for me, but now it is awesome and I know it is because of 80/10/10!
I ate up all my champagne mangoes in 3 days....bummer...but now I have some yummy cantolope melons for the week(they were on sale for $.99)!! I am looooving strawberry/banana/romaine smoothies right now too :) I am also going to shoot for one month without overt fats. This isn't overly difficult because I don't crave them, but that doesn't mean I haven't had my fare share of avacadoes since starting 80/10/10.
Unfortunately, my skin is still yucky :( I have very oily/acne prone skin that gets red/blotchy...its what is holding me back from posting any pictures of myself...i still have some self-lovin' to work on. but here is a picture of the "fruit counter"!! its from last month, so this yuumy fruit is long gone...that is about a weeks worth of food(with another 40 lbs of bananas in a box on the floor) and my beloved vitamix<3
yum yum yum! everyone have a wonderful weekend :)

pomellos!

yum yum yum, my mom bought me two pomellos! After this post, I plan on digging into them for breakfast! :)
Feeling greaaaat! Little story: I used to hate running and would be weezing after 1 minute. WELL, the past 3 days I have gone running and couldn't stop! It was an amazing feeling, I felt so strong and awesome! I'm a bit pooped today, so I'm resting, but I can wait to go for another run this week!
This weekend my boyfriend and I visited my parents. I packed tonsss of yummy bananas, strawberries and dates! I also made my family a green smoothie and they loved it, even my wicked picky brothers! :) I made a yummy zucchini pasta with mango/tomato dressing and chopped avocado for dinner one night, SO GOOD!
I swear my eyes are lighter and brighter too!!!!!!! :)
I bought a case of champaigne mangoes from a fruit store down the street from my parents house!!!!!!!!!!!! SO EXCITED! Great pricesssss :) Now I have anther reason to visit my parents!

mmm I have been basking in the deliciousness of the dates these past days! I'm doing my best to ration them, though...its sooo hard though :)
nothing new on the food front...still eating 811 and lovin' it! I caved this weekend and bought blueberries and strawberries from the grocery store. I was trying to hold out until the farmer's market started selling them in the summer, but the prices were cheap and I looove strawberry/banana smoothies! I also made a delicious smoothie of 3 bananas, water/meat of one young thai coconut and large handful of blueberries! SO GOOD!!!!
I'm visiting my family this weekend and I'm bringing my vitamix so I can introduce them to green smoothies! They are bit apprehensive, but I'll show 'em how awesome they are! :)
Right now I'm on Spring break...it is not much of a break though because I am still working. Fortunately I got those dates to get me through ;)
Yesterday I went for a run(finally had some good weather!) and I felt great!! Unfortunately I have a nasty pain in the side of my leg that I always get the day after a run...I don't know if it muscle...I stretch every morning...
I bounced on the trampoline this morning...love that thing!
I wish I had more stuff to blog about, but alas, my life just isn't that interesting right now! haha
I was thinking about how awesome it would be set up a 811 meet-up somewhere in the middle of where everyone is from...everyone I've met so far seems so down-to-earth and such cool people I would like to surround myself with! Anyone game for something like that this summer?
