I can't get over how Americans pronounce 'shone' but other than that, bloody good listening.

Well written/read. Spicy bits well placed not just gratuitous. relatable and interesting storylines too.

I first came across Sarina Bowen’s True North world in Roommates, which I really enjoyed. I was thrilled to find out it was a spin off of a whole series by the same author in the same setting. Unfortunately, although I really liked the small town Vermont setting, the apple orchard, the side characters, etc., I only enjoyed one of the three books in this compilation. Bittersweet was the worst. Audrey (female lead) came across as really incompetent and selfish. I couldn’t stand her. And despite recognising that it was a terrible idea, Griffin (the male lead) made poor business decisions that put his whole family at risk because he was attracted to a pretty girl. It’s hard to have any respect for him. The plot wasn't believable and characters acted inconsistely in order to create addition unnecessary drama or provide an unbelievable happy ending. Book 1 gets 2 stars. I enjoyed Steadfast (book 2 in the series). The plot was more engaging and the characters much less irritating. Jude’s struggle with addiction was handled well. 4 stars. Book 3 wasn’t great or terrible. Lark was frequently annoying but some of that could be forgiven due to recent trauma but at least Zachariah was super sweet. The plot wasn’t particularly engaging. 3 stars.
