Creepy Eyes in the Sky -SkyWatch Friday

I don't know about you, but this cloud formation kinda creeps me out. What caught my attention first was the squarish opening set into the cloud.  But then I saw the eyes.  Can you see them?

Have a lovely weekend and Happy Skywatch Friday. Keep looking up, you never know what you might see!

Sky Sketch

To me, it looks like someone took a huge piece of chalk and sketched this angled pattern into the sky overhead.

Have a lovely day!

Squared

I caught these astonishing clouds with straight lines recently over the top of my house.  These kinds of clouds always fill me with a bit of awe.

Clouds aren't supposed to be square-shaped!

The beauty of the skies bring to mind the Words the Maker of Life spoke to His servant Job.

"Can you lift your voice to the clouds,
That a flood of waters may cover you?
Can you send forth lightnings that they may go
And say to you, 'here we are'?"

Who can number the clouds by wisdom?
Or who can tilt the waterskins of the heavens,
When the dust runs into a mass
And the clods hold together?
~Job 38: 34-35, 37-38

Have a lovely week.

Cloudy Square -SkyWatch Friday

We were out walking when I caught this gigantic square in the sky with my camera.

Here is a close up of the cloud.

"O kingdoms of the earth, sing to God;
Sing praises to the Lord,
To him who rides in the heavens
The ancient heavens;
Behold, he sends out his voice,
His mighty voice."
~A Psalm of David
(Psalm 68:34, 35)

Getting Geometric

I've been away from this blog for a time--but I have growing a collection of geometric clouds which must be shared.  Above is a triangle cloud I caught over the back fence.

Here you can see three oval clouds next to a triangle tree top!

I see lots and lots of squares in the clouds.  It seems so odd to see a square amidst normally smooth and fluffy clouds.  I'll post some of my better pictures of cloud squares at a later time.

Round clouds such as you see above and round spaces in the clouds are more common than you might think.  I just love this fluffy circle cloud!

Last you will see a rectangle cloud. This is a rare capture.  I caught this from the window of the van, as we were traveling.

Have a lovely Christmas everyone!

Egad, It's a Square!

Once again I find myself amazed at the straight lines one can find in the skies.   I caught these square clouds over the back fence in the alley a few days ago.

'Tis purely incredible to me.

Borg Cloud at Sunset - Skywatch Friday

Heading South on I-5 one night, I happened to capture this amazing square cloud, just as the sun was setting.  It was quite spectacular!

Motley Square

I was in awe the night this Motley Square cloud floated across the skies, just as the sun lowered behind the hilltops.

Squares in Glory

When Sissy and I went to the beach I caught these square clouds in glory light.  I counted three squares in all--I thought them breathtaking.

Squared in the Sky

I was out in the back yard tending to my garden when I glanced upward.  A combination of shadow and cloud caused this perfect square to form in the skies.  Of course, since I wear my camera like a necklace when I'm out and about--I caught these amazing photos.

Through the Windshield

I was sitting at a stoplight at the bottom of the hill, waiting to turn left down the "twirly road."

I looked up, gasped, grabbed my camera (sitting on the seat beside me) and clicked this HUGE square lurking in the skies just above my windshield.

Such a strange thing to see something like this Through the Windshield.
