and this is now

Some of you may remember in my last post one of the things I mentioned was that I was looking after my father (96) who had dementia. Well he passed away a moth ago. We were blessed that he was not hard work. I was scared to go away anywhere “in case something happened.” Now that I have more free time I have decided to get away as much as I can-even weekend trips. I went off to Dublin last week. The weather was gross, so I hope to make a return trip soon. I accidentally joined a private tour round the Guinness store house and was politely escorted to a side staircase and was told to leave.

As I said the weather was gross, so my tour round Glassnevin Cemetery was cut short-but this is something I would like to see in full on my next visit. Many characters from Irelands history are buried here. And of course a few “interesting story” characters

I have a few holiday plans now. Some of you may remember my cruise experience, and I said ever again, BUT I COULD talk myself into another one-somewhere warmer than Ireland in October or November. But I think I would prefer one of them train trips round Scotland, in July or August. And if I can find a self led cycling holiday here in Ireland with 6 or 7 in the group I think I would much prefer that. I will NOT be bringing a certain somebody who I have kind of fallen out with. I will be checking that in May.

I am currently re reading “Lost Continent”- Bill Bryson. A very funny book in which he travels round “small town America”. Something I would like to experience, but with the way Donald is acting I am not too keen on going over there-I don’t like flying anyway.

Weather here in Ireland is abysmal, we have had non stop rain for the past 40 odd days, so I am not getting out on my bikes much.

Soooo I am trying to get about as much as I can now. When I work out bus/train times I will ger a bit further down south than my usual favourite Galway.

Hope to be back soon with travel and cycling stories. With the constant rain I amn a bit sorry I decided to give the turbo a break this winter-which is almost over now

As always too lazy to check this

bye
