The most recent updates to Java 8 (OpenJDK 8u362 or Oracle Java 8u351) have disabled SHA-1 signatures in signed JARs. This prevents the LOCKSS daemon from loading plugins that were packaged a long time ago, which makes it appear as though AUs have disappeared. The solution is to rebuild the old plugin JARs with a contemporary Java.
The LOCKSS Team is taking care of this repackaging in the Global LOCKSS Network (GLN) and in LOCKSS networks we manage.
