Preschool Party

Jack had his first official school Halloween party today. I think his teacher is crazy for thinking it was a good idea to pass out buckets of candy to a room full of 2 year olds...but she's the one who had to deal with them for 2 hours! The parents came at the end to take pictures.

This is Jack's teacher Mrs. Conger. I think she's a saint...she gives me a 2 hour break every Tuesday morning...nuff said.

As you can see, the sugar was starting to set in and Jack didn't want to sit in his chair and cooperate. Hey at least he wasn't picking his nose like the kid next to him!

Binkie Boy

Look who's lovin the binkie again. Fabulous. We had Jack totally off it a month before Halle was born, but ever since she has been here he's been sneaking her binkies. I tried to keep them from him, but he would find them in drawers where they were hidden, or he would steal them out of Halle's car seat while we were driving. I would find him hiding somewhere in the house suckin on a binkie, getting his quick fix!! Now I'm trying to just give them to him when he's going to sleep. He'll say "binkie please mommy, I wanna sleep"...how can I say no to that? I know it's a bad habit that I'm letting him get back into...but I was out of the running for mother of the year a long time ago so I'm not worried about it... :)

Firsts for Halle

Halle had some firsts this past week. First, we all discovered a love for the Bumbo seat. I kept looking at them at Target and thinking "40 bucks, really?" I finally gave in and bought it. Love it.

Second, she tried cereal for the first time. She's not sure if she's a fan of it. I don't think she got one spoonful down. We had fun trying though.

Last, she is sleeping in her own bed instead of the bassinet next to our bed! She was getting up like 3 times a night and Randy said "Put her in her own room, I guarentee she'll sleep better". I hate to admit when he's right! She is only up once now, and a couple times has slept all the way through the night!

Flashback Friday { Katie }

This flashback goes to Katie...my little sister...who turned 21 this week! As you can see, my awesome fashion sense rubbed off on her at a young age! I am so thankful to have her for a sister. She has a huge heart and is such a loyal friend. And she is a great aunt to my kids. Happy Birthday Katie! We love you...

ps...not one word about the glasses!

Jen K wanted to see a picture of Katie now...so here it is!

Uncle Lanny

This was a sweet moment I caught between my brother Landon and Jack. They were watching Dan Zanes videos on You Tube (Jack is a Dan Zanes groupie!). Thanks for being such a great Uncle Landon! Love ya...

A face only a mother could love

This was Jack today after eating Ravioli (one of his faves). Believe it or not he does get most of it in his mouth. I started to clean him with baby wipes but decided it was a lost cause and had to throw him in the bath. Hopefully he doesn't still eat like this when he's old enough to date...

First Snow

This is what we woke up to this morning! It is so pretty...I am so ready for Winter, the Holidays, everything. (If this doesn't make you homesick for Utah Melanie and Laura, I don't know what will!!)

Jack couldn't wait to get out in it. Poor Randy has been really sick all weekend, but it's hard to resist Jack when he asks you to play in the snow with him. So they headed out back for a little bit. It didn't take long for Jack to realize that pjs aren't the best idea for playing in the snow and they were back inside.

Then we had hot chocolate...it was a fun morning!

Flashback Friday { Melanie }

So some of my friends do Flashback Friday...I always like to see their Flashbacks so I am gonna start doing it too! Here is my first flashback. About a year and a half ago I went to Texas to visit Melanie. I was proud of myself for putting together what I thought was a pretty cute outfit for my plane ride over there. But when I got down to the baggage claim I found Mel wearing the exact same outfit! We started laughing and could not stop...people were looking at us like a couple of freaks. All we could do was hurry and get my bags and get outta there...we felt so stupid! It reminded me of Snow College when we would wear matching skirts and knee high socks to math class. At the time we thought we were cool, but looking back on it now, the girl who made fun of us in math class had every reason to...

Love ya Mel

Anything hockey

Hockey is Jack's latest obsession...and Randy couldn't be happier! We bought him his first pair of hockey skates and took him skating a couple weeks ago, and now it's all he wants to do. Randy had to tivo a hockey game so that Jack can watch it whenever he wants. I'm not complaining...I'd rather listen to a hockey game than Dora anyday! Jack was sad one day because he wanted to go skating, so Randy put some water on a cookie sheet and put it in the freezer. Jack checked his "ice" all day until it was frozen. Then we put it on the floor and he just stood on it...happy as can be! We also had to buy rubber caps for his skates so he can wear them around the house without scratching the floor. It's usually the first thing he wants in the morning, to put his skates on...even before chocolate milk...which is big for him! I guess chocolate milk is now his second love...this kid is all about hockey right now.

Stitches

This happened last month...but I wanted to document Jack's first stitches. First, but I'm sure not the last! We were in California at Disneyland and headed back to the hotel room at lunch time to let Jack take a nap. He was goofing off running around the room and fell and hit his head on a corner. More blood than I care to ever see again! We got directions to the hospital, made a pit stop in the ER, and headed back to Disneyland for the rest of the night. He was a trooper. And now he has a cool scar to impress the ladies!!

Grandma Nellie

Randy's Grandma passed away last week, and we all were in St. George this past weekend for her funeral. It was such a good weekend...so fun to be with everyone, and such a great tribute to Grandma to have all her family in one place together, with everyone sharing funny stories and good memories of summers spent in Santa Clara. I think the thing that stands out about Grandma was her great sense of humor...she had to be able to laugh at life while raising 12 kids (yep, I said 12!). These are some pictures from the funeral and also a couple pictures that I love of Grandma. The last time I saw her was when I went to cut her hair at the rest home she was living at. Jack was with me and wanted to help me so he brushed and squirted her hair. She will be missed...

So long Summer

Anyone who knows me good knows that I am never too sad to see Summer end...I love love love Fall. It's getting cold here and I couldn't be happier. Nothing prettier than UT in the Fall! We did have a good Summer though...we didn't do a ton since we had a newborn...but these are pictures of some stuff we did get to do. I would say the highlights were Halle, Disneyland, oh and Jack wakeboarding for the first time. I about had a heart attack watching it but he loved it! The two little girls in the one picture are my cute cousin Taylor's girls...we got to see them when we were in Cali. And the little boy with Jack in one of the pictures is his cousin at a family reunion...they are good buddies! It was a fun Summer...but bring on the Fall...
