Baby bling

Baby H is sporting some new bling this week in her ears! I was at the mall with my mom, aunts, grandma and cousin and decided to go for it. Half my family was saying "it's so mean...", the other half (mainly aunt Jan who could talk me into anything) was saying "just do it..." So after standing in Claire's for about 20 minutes feeling like I was going to have a panic attack, I did it. She did SO GOOD. And it is just about the cutest thing I have ever seen. She cried for about 5 seconds until my mom gave her a sucker and that was that.

I was the biggest chicken when it came to getting my ears pierced....so hopefully she will thank me later for doing it at a time when she won't remember a thing...way to go Hal!

(yes I know that flower is too big and looks ridiculous...I took it off once I saw it in the picture!)

L.O.V.E.

Valentine's was fun this year. I went to Jack's school party...so cute. The night before I helped him make his first valentine's box. It was not my best work, but he thought it was cool...so yahoo for me I guess! His party was cute. They decorated cookies and passed out valentines to each other. He decorated 2 cookies...so I asked if one was for mommy...nope he said, as he ate both of them in about 2 minutes flat. Then he leaned over and licked the frosting on the kid's cookie next to him...so he had to eat that one too.

We didn't know if we wanted to go out with the other hundreds of people going to dinner, but decide to brave it cause we didn't feel like cooking. (And by we, I mean he, cause he's a way better cook than me). We ended up at a chinese restaurant in a strip mall by our house, that has surprisingly good sushi. Who would have thought sushi in a strip mall?

I've been thinking about things I love...and mostly I just love the random everyday stuff...stuff that wouldn't mean that much to anyone else, but to me they make my days...

sunny but still cold enough for a jacket days
Randy in his new Express jeans
Jack trying to take care of Halle when she is crying
diet coke from mcdonalds
gossip magazines
reading a book in the bathtub
both kids asleep at the same time during the day
crystal light to go packets (only on days I'm trying not to drink mcdonalds diet coke!)
getting a pedicure
that Halle is starting to be a mama's girl
when Jack puts me in time out and tells me not to come out until I'm ready to listen better (hmm wonder where he got that one from?)
seeing my husband playing with our kids
getting my car washed
when Jack tells me he loves me without me saying it first
Halle's little laugh
going out to breakfast
a full night's sleep

I could go on and on...Happy Valentines!

Never too old...

So, anyone who knows Sarah and I will not be surprised to hear we just got back from seeing the movie Step Up 2. We put our apple bottom jeans on and saw the first showing this morning, opening day! There is nothing better than a good ole high school movie...especially one with hot dancing guys in it. It was our Valentines present to ourselves. You think we're too old to be the first in line for these kinds of movies? Never. Thanks Sarah for refusing to grow up with me! Love ya...

BFF

Melanie's visit last weekend went a little something like this: shopping, massages, movie night, road trip to Erika's baby shower, sonic diet cokes, shoe party, seeing Sarah's new house, superbowl party, lots of laughing, but most important CAFE RIO!

Love ya Mel...thanks for the visit :)
