Chunka Monka

I just have to share because it's so funny. Brody had a Doctor appt. today. He did great, even with the shot. He was more brave than I am with shots. I am very impressed with him. The doctor told me that his speach is really advanced and even the way he interacts. Yeah- that's my boy!
But the best part was weighing Tate. It's been awhile since his last check up and I wondered how big he was getting. So, Brody at almost 3 &1/2 weighs 34lbs and Chubba Tate at 17 months is 31 LBS!!! I'm not really suprised, my arms could have told you that they were about the same, but to know it's true just makes me laugh!
In Tate's defense, Brody was a big baby too and lost it. I don't think Tate will ever be little. He is just a big, tall baby. He is so strong and super fast. We think he's destined to be an athlete!

Memorial Day

We had a very low key Memorial Day. Greg started a new landscaping project. He is completly re-doing our front walkway. It is a lot of hard work shoveling and digging and soon we'll be planting. This is all new to us, we spent last night at a garden center getting ideas. I think it will be really fun, I just hope I can keep it up. After working all morning on the walkway, Greg had just enough energy left to wash his car. We all came out to supervise. Brody and Tate really got into it and were pretty helpful. They even washed their school bus. Brody's favorite part was getting the car all soapy. Tate liked the hose. We would spray him and he would run away laughing and then come back for more. They are such silly boys.

Happy 6th!

Today is our sixth ANNIVERSARY!! It has gone by so fast. I can remember every detail of our wedding day, It was perfect. But to me our Anniversary isn't just about remembering the day we were married, but all the lessons, the fun and the struggles along the way. (pardon me with my deep thoughts here). I've just been thinking what an accomplishment it is to stay married. Holidays are fun to enjoy, but they come every year with minimal effort. Unfortunatly, the same isn't true about Anniversarys. You have to work every day and every year to make sure there is another one to come. That's why I think it is the most special day to celebrate!
To quote one of my favorite songs, " So many 25ths of December, just as many 4th of July's and we're still holding on together. It only comes down to you and I........ And we're still holding hands when we're walking acting like we've only just met, but how can that be when there's so much history, I guess that's how true lovers can get. Another year has gone by and I'm still the one by your side after everything that's gone by. There's still no one saying good-bye though another year has gone by". I'm sorry for the cheesy post, but I love you Greg! Happy Anniversary!

We are the Champions!!!

Tonight for our ward activity we had a Pinewood Derby. I thought it would be fun to go hang out, eat food and let the boys watch some good racing. I had no idea that I was married to a former derby champion. (See, we're still learning things about each other)! Greg took this as serious business. I can honestly say that blood, sweat, and tears went into this event, but that's a totally different story. Let's just say Tate is accident prone. Anyway- It all paid off, because we won the whole thing! Yeah!! I had to tease Greg, because he was so intense during the races. It was funny to see, He normally isn't that competitive. On the way home he told me that he is yet to lose a pinewood derby race. Anyone up to the challenge?

Fathers and Sons

This weekend was the annual Fathers and Sons outing for our stake. Unfortunalty with the crazy rain we've been having we thought it best that Greg and Brody stay closer to home this year. Not wanting to miss out on any fun, Greg set up our tent in the backyard where He and Brody camped out. They told storys and read books, then went to bed. It was a good idea to stay close, at 1 am Greg decided he'd had enough of the city noise and they came back to their comfy beds. I guess in real camping you don't hear air conditioners, cars and motorcycles racing down the road, or your neighbors' dog barking all night. But they did have fun and Greg can't wait to take both the boys next year.

When we're helping we're HAPPY

... And we sing as we go. Well maybe he wasn't singing, but Brody was very excited to help me vacuum. He is all about helping and "doing it myslef, Mommy". He even helped Daddy mow the lawn today. Such a sweet boy. I hope this phase lasts for a while. I wonder how he'd do at windows?

I had to add this one of Tate. We were vacuuming again and he thought it looked like a fun ride, so he came right over and climbed on. He looked up at me like, come on Mom let's get this thing movin!
