Cindy Ishoy Clinic at ADDC

This past weekend we travelled to Mount Uniack to ride in a clinic with Cindy Ishoy.
We left very early Saturday morning because my lesson was scheduled for later in the afternoon. I took Whiscalina with me and it was a big exiting weekend for her!

Whisca was absolutely amazing! She was so well behaved, didn't look at anything in the big beautiful arena! Cindy was very pleased with the way Whiscalina was going and the level she's at in her training considering she is still not even quite four years old yet. We worked a lot on the transitions and both days we rode and worked on the FEI four year old test. I really enjoyed the clinic and getting the help from Cindy was very useful.

Absolutely enjoyed the weekend. It was very nice seeing everyone again! I was very proud of Whiscalina and once again I couldn't have asked for more :-)

Although it was a little chilly this weekend we had our first "official camping trip" of 2007. This time we actually stayed in our new trailer! Luckily we had a little heater to keep us warm. But it worked out just fine so this will be our new residence at the horse shows this summer:

Another Little Road Trip

Sunday morning we were on the road to Port Elgin for a lesson with Sue. Not very many passengers on board this time. I guess they realize that this summer could be another busy one so they're saving their energy!

So it was Ambre and me in the truck and Wanja and Kionus in the trailer behind us. The temperatures were nice for traveling. Ambre rode first and was very pleased with her lesson! Wanja was going very nice for her and put a lot of effort in! Kionus keeps surprising me! I think he really enjoys the lessons because he always gives a little extra when we ride with Sue. He had absolutely beautiful, never before seen half passes and flying changes. I was so exited! :-)

Because our troops stayed home we had our hands full with riding and taking care of the horses so no pictures this time of our lessons. Better luck next time... The picture on the right was made a few years ago during the Evergreen dressage show in Saint John, New Brunswick.

Back to Posting On The Blog

It's certainly been a while since I last posted on the blog. Well, things are still quite busy with the horses and the weather has been fairly cooperative this winter for riding. It was quite cold in February, but luckily I missed some of that because I spent some time in Holland where the temperatures were around the 10 degrees mark!

This weekend Sue was over again to teach us at the Winsloe Equestrian Centre and Storybook Stables. I rode both Kionus and Whiscalina and was pleased with both of them! Whiscalina is getting quite a bit stronger and you can certainly notice that when riding her. Her movements are getting big and powerful; it's just so much fun to ride her.

In total we had 13 riders participating this weekend! It's nice to see such great interest. Sue is always a great help to everyone. We really enjoy and appreciate her coming over to the Island to help us!

It looks like March will be a busy month as far as lessons and clinics goes. I will try to keep you update with stories and pictures!

Tack Box

It's done! I can finally show you my new tack box! We started this project about 4-5 months as one of those brainstorms of how nice it would be to have a wooden tack box. Then, it was Darren who jumped up and said lets try to make one! Back in the fall, Darren & Ambre and I spent pretty well an entire weekend in their garage and ended up with a beautiful box! It's perfect, it's got all the things you want in or on a tack box. Although, we never built a tack box before I highly recommend "Tawil's Woodworking" ;-) Thanks again guys! I can't wait to use it this summer!
