Hey there, welcome to my little corner of the internet. I’m Giovanni.

Born and raised in Pennsylvania, with roots that stretch from the hills of northern Italy to the old towns of Germany, I’ve always felt like I lived between worlds. Especially when it came to food. I grew up in a swirl of great food, loud family dinners, and traditions that stuck. My dad’s side taught me the magic of slow-simmered sauces, olive oil, and family dinners that last for hours. My mom’s side? Think tangy sauerkraut, hearty roasts, and a deep respect for comfort cooking. Somewhere in between, I found my flavour.
Every dish had a memory. Every meal meant something. That stuck with me. As I got older, I knew I wanted to create a space that felt just like those dinners: warm, real, and rooted in good food. Today, I run a cozy restaurant just outside Philly, where I cook with the seasons and try to keep things simple. Honest food, done right. What started as a dream turned into a daily rhythm I’ve come to love: feeding people, building connections, and honoring what it means to eat well.
The blog came later, kind of by accident. I’d scribble thoughts during prep, or wind down after service with ideas still simmering in my head. Healthy Exposures grew from those quiet moments. See, cooking’s always been my way of connecting. First with my heritage, then with others. But writing? That’s where I get to slow down, reflect, and really dig into why we eat the way we do. It’s where I share recipes, reflections, and the small ways we can take better care of ourselves. Food, wellness, lifestyle, it’s all connected.
And I’m all about balance, ‘cause life’s too short to give up pasta or say no to a good rye bread.
Pull up a chair. You’re in good company.
