Good Weekend

I had a good weekend.  1st DH worked overtime on Saturday morning so I got to spend some time at home alone.  In the afternoon I went over to my sisters and spent a couple of hours with her, her daughter and granddaughter.  Her daughter and granddaughter are here from Oregon for 2 weeks.  They are all down at the Jersey shore for a few days.  I was asked to go along but because of a couple of weeks DH and I have scheduled to go away I just couldn't go.  Not enough vacation time and not enough money.

Sunday we had DH's aunt and her friend for dinner.  While they live about 45 minutes or so from us we just don't see them very often.  I wish we did see them more as they are both wonderful women.  They are both in their 80s and are really active. I really enjoyed the hours we spent with them yesterday.  It was all the more wonderful since DH did the cooking.

Blue  Ribbon Designs A Christmas Wish stitched on 16 Ct. Ivory Aida.  This is the June Ornament for my sister.

Lizzie Kate Easter Flit It - stitched on Sassy's Fabric French Vanilla.  I am going to make this into a no-sew cube for my oldest sister.  She asked me to make this for her and since she seldom asks me to do anything like this for her how could I say no.

I finished

PS Christmas Village last night.  Despite a few little mistakes I think it looks wonderful.  I haven't taken a picture of it yet but I will as soon as I wash and iron it. I started it on March 1st and completed it on June 23rd.  I also finished Lizzie Kate's Easter last week.  I have it sitting on the cube but haven't pinned it yet.  Actually I don't have the fabric for the back and sides as my oldest sister has it at her house.  She will be down for a visit after July 4th so I hope she remembers to bring it with her.  I am stitching on the July ornament for my other sister in the mornings before work and have it a little over half done.  It is Quaker Snowman.  I have stitched this one before and really like it.  My next night project is going to be LHN Sunflower Inn.  I have everything for it I just have to pull the DMC floss it calls for.  I think I will do that tonight.

It is so hot and humid here in PA.  Today it is going to be 96 with a heat index over 100.  We have been in a heat wave since last Saturday.  I think tomorrow it is suppose to me a little cooler and less humid.  Then by the middle of next week they are saying it will only be in the 70's.  What is with this weather?  We need rain so bad but except for a possibility of thunder storms this afternoon there isn't any in the forecast.

This morning

I finished the June ornament for my sister.  It is Blue Ribbon "May You Be Blessed"  I had to change the wording on it as I stitched it on Aida rather then the Linen the design called for.  It should have read "May You Be Blessed With Health & Happiness"  I just stitched May You Be Blessed" as that was all I could fit. I will try to post a picture later this week or maybe I will wait until I actually make into an ornament.   Then I stitched a little on the Lizzie Kate Easter that I am doing for my other sister.  That should be done fairly soon.  I am stitching on the last house on the PS Christmas Village and then I will only have the top right corner to stitch which is trees, a reindeer and a goose or two.

Sunday afternoon B and I sat down and figured out where we are staying when we go to Sonoma in September and he made the reservations.  Now we just have to find a hotel in San Francisco for Saturday and Sunday night and then one at the airport for Friday night..  So that trip is almost planned as far as lodging.  I guess we will work on it some more this coming Sunday.

We are having our annual Friday Night Group picnic on Saturday.  There are 2 couples that won't be coming so it will be a small gathering.  There will only be 7 of us instead of the usual 11 or 12.

Look what I picked up this morning

The 1st picture of Waxing Moon Designs Believe stitched on 14Ct Aida Lambswool .  I stitched this at the request of my sister and she took it home with her after I took the picture.  I love it and may have to stitch it for my self.

The 2nd picture is love Letters by The Chocolate Cat stitched on 16 Ct. Aida using Thread Worx Wild Poppy over dyed thread.  It is for my Grandnephew and his fiance for a wedding present.  There wedding is in August and Bob and i will be going to North Carolina for the wedding.

Make the next 198 days go faster and faster.  I can't stand it here anymore.  I am so tired of being criticized.  Now I am being told I don't transfer calls right.  I transfer them the only way I know of.  Earlier I was told that I am always pulling up the wrong report.  I pulled up the right report it is just that one of the infallible techs made a mistake.  God forbid they would be told they did something wrong. Got yelled at earlier today because the techs aren't putting the equipment they sold in the data base the way they are suppose to.  I am tired of being every ones whipping post.  I am just so tired of the whole thing.

OK I will stop venting now. 

199 Days

As of today I have 199 days until I retire. I am now under 200 days.  Yeah   My boss said something strange to me today.  He gave me some increases in the tech's salary to put in the accounting program for this week and then he said that when the other boss comes back from vacation they would like to sit down with me an discuss my plans.  I haven't told anyone at work that I am planning on retiring at the end of the year.  I don't know how to answer them if they ask me directly when I am planning on retiring.  I don't want to lie but I think if I tell them that I plan on retiring at the the end of the year they will tell me to go now. 

I am stitching diligently on PS Christmas Village.  It is looking so nice.  I will have to post an updated picture of it soon.

Other than that life goes on.  Bob and I are starting to get ready for our annual picnic on June 19th.  We e-mailed everyone yesterday to let them know what they could bring.  I asked to take June 18th off as I will have lots to do to get ready for Saturday.  I have been cleaning the house a few rooms at a time for the last couple of weeks.  So I only have a little cleaning left to do and then just need to straighten up before the picnic.
