  • Our Leakage Reduction Programme continues to deliver strong results, with the Cooley Peninsula in Louth now saving more than 780,000 litres of water every day following extensive leak detection and repair works. This volume is equivalent to the daily water use of over 5,800 people, supporting a more resilient and reliable water supply for the community. These improvements are particularly significant during the peak summer season, when demand traditionally surges. Thanks to targeted interventions under our Find and Fix and First Fix Free schemes, incidences of low pressure and outages have markedly reduced. Our teams, working closely with local customers and regional delivery partners, are using advanced technologies, including geolocation and camera inspection tools, to identify and repair difficult to detect underground leaks. These innovations continue to unlock new opportunities for further savings as the programme progresses. For more, visit https://lnkd.in/dWx98YKC

It was my pleasure to meet with Commissioner Jessika Roswall, Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy and Regina Doherty, Fine Gael, and Member of the European Parliament in Brussels on Wednesday.    We discussed the European Water Resilience Strategy, the criticality of resilient water and wastewater infrastructure both in Ireland and across the EU and the challenges we face in delivering projects of strategic national importance such as the Water Supply Project and the Greater Dublin Drainage project.    We agree with the Commissioner that water has been taken for granted for too long and must become a priority within the EU. Accelerated planning and permitting for critical infrastructure projects is needed if we are to accelerate water resilience both in Ireland and across the EU. Commissioner Roswall's key priorities are driving forward European Water Resilience Strategy, and she is a strong advocate for water resilience as both an environmental necessity and socio-economic opportunity.    Thank you to MEP Regina Doherty MEP Doherty for arranging the meeting and to my colleagues Brian Murphy and Eimear Christian Christian for joining me in an excellent discussion.    #UisceEireann #EUCommission  #SustainableWater  #CircularEconomy

  • Detecting hidden leaks: Sound, skill and night shifts! Before you fix a leak, you have to find it. Skilled operatives often work at night using sound to detect hidden leaks in Dublin’s network - a city full of pipes, cables and reclaimed land. Stephen Burke, Regional Water Operations Senior Manager explains why repairs are so challenging. 📺now at https://lnkd.in/d9_aauFx. #UisceMatters #UisceÉireann #LeakDetection #WaterInfrastructure #Engineering #GreaterDublinArea
