Abstract
The IEEE DataPort Dataset Competition, organized under the IEEE Sensors Council Conference Series and sponsored by IEEE DataPort, invites global researchers, students, and professionals to share high‑quality sensor datasets that can accelerate research and innovation across key technology domains.
This competition will be held in conjunction with IEEE APSCON 2026 and aims to foster open, high‑impact data sharing within the IEEE community.
IEEE DataPort Dataset Competition at IEEE APSCON 2026 invites participants globally to submit innovative and original sensor-based datasets across diverse areas including IoT, healthcare, smart cities, environment, cognitive sciences, and advanced technology systems. The goal is to foster impactful research, enhance innovation, and promote high-quality datasets within the IEEE research community. Top datasets will receive monetary awards, IEEE recognition, and will be featured prominently on the IEEE DataPort platform.
Instructions:
Participants are invited to submit datasets in the following thematic areas:
1. Environmental & Earth Observation
• Underwater Sensor Networks – marine pollution and aquatic life monitoring
• Landslide & Earthquake Monitoring – seismic or tilt sensor data
• Glacier Movement & Snow Avalanche – climate studies using temperature and motion data
• Air & Water Quality Sensors – pollution and smart‑city environmental monitoring
2. Healthcare & Cognitive Sciences
• Autism Learning Curve Monitoring – eye‑tracking and behavioral sensor data
• Cognitive Responses in Alzheimer’s Patients – EEG and speech pattern datasets
• Wearable Health Sensors – activity recognition and anomaly detection
3. Technology & Smart Systems
• Smart Transportation – traffic flow and vehicular sensor data
• Smart Industry (IIoT) – predictive maintenance and industrial IoT sensors
• Agriculture & Environment – soil and crop health monitoring
Submission Requirements
- Datasets must be original (not previously published or assigned a DOI).
- Each submission must include a 2‑page metadata description outlining:
- Objective and scope
- Data collection methods and instrumentation
- Structure, format, and sample entries
- Potential applications and use cases
Ethical considerations (if any)
- Submissions must comply with IEEE DataPort standards for dataset upload.
