Just Patty (Patty Van Deft) has just released her new book of Poetry entitled ‘My Wings’. Essentially, she has split the book into two parts. The first is an exploration of her dark side and the second her light side. In doing so, Patty’s book takes the reader through the whole spectrum of human experience. Fear, pain, loss, anxiety, hope, joy and courage. This makes reading ‘My Wings’ an extremely personal experience that speaks directly to every reader. Pain and Love
The days become nights, when hearts are deep in pain
The sun is blackened out, when life is steeped in pain
Thoughts fill the mind. A violent storm brews inside
Tunnel with no escape. Curled up, red wrists leak in pain
Lost in suffering, sense of self disappears
Smell the death, every atom and fibre reeks of pain
Eternal darkness. In agony a second is worth a million years.
No longer searching for light; Hopelessness is the the peak of pain
He just waits, waits for death
Perhaps then, Ihsan can beat his pain

Sacrifice your life, searching for righteous love
To be human is to be one with the light of love
Ask the Prophet, what even the sinners know
To live is to taste the sweet delight of love
Lose yourself in sacred Oneness
Peaceful bliss is found in this uniting love
The reason for existence, the source of Life
The mountains crumble in worship, at the sight of Love
Any door can be opened with the the master key
Ihsan is the master key; Look how bright he burns, alight with love!
