The world’s a broken mirror
Sharp pieces crowd the ground
People run in blindfolds
Oblivious to their bleeding selves
Consumed in consuming
Controlled by a culture of fear
This is the age of reason
Humans are aught but their minds
Long ago a time existed
Before men were ‘enlightened’
When wisdom was honoured
As a great King on his Throne
Humans were noble
The People of the Soul
They sought transcendence
To soar beyond worldly forms
They had understanding
Myths were lies of truth
The mystic spoke in symbols
And hearts simply understood
Stand on guard vigilant
In this world of broken glass
Don’t follow in its footsteps
Lest you mortally wound yourself
Don’t be saddened in despair
‘Stars shine brightest in the dark’
This is a truth known
From a time
Long ago
