What a brilliant mind
I loved to debate
Reason impeccable
Nothing escaped

People would come
Seeking an answer
I would oblige
Heart filled with pride

Yet I struggled
With pain unbearable
Thoughts inescapable
I begged for help

Brought before the One
I was told to surrender
So that I may be shown
The light of my being

My mind said:
How could you have what you don’t already know?
Love answered:
Be silent so you may experience the Truth

In my quiet
I was moved deep within
A world full of treasures
Love, Peace and Truth

Everyday I’m shown some more
When reason objects
I laugh
My heart knows what’s true

And since that day
All has changed
Now, when they ask
I answer:
Surrender is all I know

Love is Cruel

O’ Seeker of secrets
Traveller of the untrodden path
Do not retreat in your footsteps
When you face the cruelty of Love

Love does not announce her presence
She forces you to seek door to door
Until you discover her hiding place
And understand her priceless worth

Love comes in the darkness of the night
Splashing water on those who sleep
This is when she undresses
Long before the rooster crows

Love ties knots inside your stomach
The Lover loses pleasure of food
For pleasures act as dusty veils
Blanketing the beauty of Love

Love carries an axe and hammer
Tearing apart all that you know
Your foundation must be broken
So you may be resurrected anew

Love has many stages
Blocked by obstacles of fire
Your dirt calls for purification
If you wish to climb her ladder

Love pushes you to your limits
That moment you scream no more
For in that moment you are done
Love requires your quiet surrender

Do not be disheartened
O’ traveller of the way
You have chosen wisely
And love is always there to help

You face great hardships
But with Love, your burden is less
You have chosen your eternal self
And that alone is worth the task

In the search for God
So let us stop this thinking

The One will always find us
If we just sit still

Simply surrender yourself
Thoughts and desires
He’ll break you into pieces
And build you anew

He will show you His power
Deep inside your heart
He has made this His palace
With walls of His light

This is the divine vessel
That guides you aright
When in silent surrender
It is brought to life

This is where he keeps His Grace
Prayers from the Heart
Are arrows pointed to God
Flying to the sky, answered

The heart contains the great Truth
The purpose of life
A Love you can’t imagine
One I can’t describe

Anything else will make you sick
This, my friend, is the way to endure

Truth is cloaked in silence
Truth lovers are deeply quiet
They carry a peaceful stillness
You want to reach out and touch

The more you experience
The less you have to say
Words are aught but shadows
Facing the light of Reality

If they’ve ended their endless talking
Then hear what they have to say
They speak volumes with their presence
Their eyes give Divine secrets away

And if they open their mouths
Their words are brief and honest
Doing what they must
For every once in a while

Their words are more beautiful than their silence

A Heart of Love

Standing in submission
My heart begins to expand
It spreads like an Ocean
But its depth has no end

Drowned in the water
Consumed by my heart
My muscles are paralyzed
There is no swimming back

I drift deeper and deeper
Staring in amazement
This place is not a myth
There’s a world inside

I reach a place of quiet
Unable to think a thought
There is no movement
Only stillness and peace

The stillness remains
Yet I am moved
My eyes are opened
Everything is so clear

Is the sun lost in the water?
No, I see myself
I am the Light of this world

The light remains
And I am moved
To the place of places
The water is so warm

My being is surrendered
I let myself drown
For now I know
There is no death

For the heart that is Love

What is this Strangness?

Eyes closed, mind quiet

All my desires are gone

The stillness pushes me

Deep within the depths of my being

I find an unexplored universe

There is an unspeakable Power here

It is gentle and kind

It moves me and my mouth opens

I begin to sing the song of birds

It moves me and my body sways

I begin to dance the dance of cultures

What is this strangeness?

I am still an infant

Movement without understanding

I pray for patience until I grow
