I Admire YOU

You think you’re weak and frail
That there’s something wrong
Because your life’s upside down
Drowning in pain and fear

But please tell me dear
Who has more courage
Than one who fights to live
Despite life’s violent storms?

You are far from fragile
Look with your hindsight now
Pain has turned you into
The person I most admire

Remember, struggle is a sculptor
Its hands create character
You’ve become more patient, kind and wise
And a quiet strength lies within your eyes

The foundation of a broken home
Must be uprooted from the ground
You’re life is only being torn apart
To make room for a better you

Every fear, pain and sadness
Is a gift wrapped in a bow
Placed by the Great Love
At the doorstep of your life

Who hates a beautiful gift
Except those who are blind?
And what is blindness
But to look with your desires
and your mind?

Open up your inner heart
Behold the world with Divine eyes
True perception from the Sacred self
Is the vision of essence that never lies

Joy hides in sadness
Hope hides in despair
It is no secret
That the cure is in the poison

To be grateful for your hardships
Is to live a life that’s Divine
Peace is no stranger
To those who patiently give thanks

Sacrifice your false self
Unclench your grip on being
Die a hundred deaths
And be reborn without fear

As dawn today rises inside me
The aches of the night fold
Sun rays seep through my window
Your warm touch, your kiss I hold

My heart wanders to my thoughts
Coloured grey, It’s so confused
What’s love when freedom’s lost?
I know now what I must do

I search deep in your sleepy eyes
To me, they speak a thousand words
You are the bird, I am the cage
It is time I relinquish the key

And with this key I give my self
But selflessness is one with love
Quietly I wait in silent prayer
Hoping for the day you return

Flutter your wings and sail away
Let them take you to the highest plains
I shall remain in this abode
Your soul nesting in my arms

And if you return, return in love
Carried back by freedom’s wings
But if the wind keeps you away
Then my heart is not your home
