Most cyber incidents don’t break down because of a lack of tools - they fail because of internal misalignment 🚨 As we head into 2026, we're taking a look at some of the key findings in Cyber Incident Response Management from this past year. The 2025 State of Cybersecurity Incident Response Management (CIRM) Report showed: ▶️ 70% of security leaders said internal misalignment caused more chaos than the attacker itself. ▶️ Misalignment shows up as shifting decision ownership, late involvement from legal and communications, fragmented tooling, and teams that haven’t practiced together in realistic scenarios. The data reinforces what many CISOs already know: effective incident response depends less on adding tools and more on building operational readiness.
