Amit Srivastava reposted thisAmit Srivastava reposted thisThere will be no AI jobpocalypse. The story that AI will lead to massive unemployment is stoking unnecessary fear. AI — like any other technology — affects jobs, but telling overblown stories of large-scale unemployment is irresponsible and damaging. Let’s put a stop to it. I’ve expressed skepticism about the jobpocalypse in previous posts. I’m glad to the popular press is now pushing back on this narrative. Software engineering is the sector most affected by AI tools, as coding agents race ahead. Yet hiring of software engineers remains strong! (Link in The Batch.) While there are examples of AI taking away jobs, the trends point to net job creation being vastly greater than job destruction — just like earlier waves of technology. Despite the exciting AI progress, the U.S. unemployment rate remains a healthy 4.3%. Why is the AI jobpocalypse narrative so popular? Frontier AI labs have a strong incentive to tell stories that make AI technology sound more powerful. At their most extreme, they promote science-fiction scenarios of AI “taking over” and causing human extinction. If a technology can replace many employees, surely that technology must be very valuable! Also, a lot of SaaS software companies charge around $100-$1000 per user/year. If an AI company can replace an employee who makes $100,000 — or make them 50% more productive — then charging even $10,000 looks reasonable. By anchoring to salaries of employees, AI companies can charge much more. Additionally, businesses have a strong incentive to talk about layoffs as if they were caused by AI. Talking about how they’re using AI to be far more with fewer staff makes them look smart. This is a better message than admitting they overhired during the pandemic when capital was abundant due to low interest rates and a massive government financial stimulus. To be clear, I recognize that AI is causing a lot of people’s work to change. This is hard. This is stressful. (And to some, it can be fun.) I empathize with everyone affected. At the same time, this is very different from predicting a collapse of the job market. Societies are capable of telling themselves stories for years that have little basis in reality and lead to poor decision making. For example, fears over nuclear plant safety led to under-investment in nuclear power. Fears of the “population bomb” in the 1960s led countries to implement harsh policies to reduce their populations. And worries about dietary fat led governments to promote unhealthy high-sugar diets. Now that mainstream media is openly skeptical about the jobpocalypse, I hope these stories will start to lose their teeth (much AI-driven human extinction). Contrary to the predictions of an AI jobpocalypse, I predict the opposite: There will be an AI jobapalooza! AI will lead to a lot more good AI engineering jobs, and I’m optimistic about the future of the overall job market. [Truncated for length. Amit Srivastava reposted thisAmit Srivastava reposted thisRetail shelf audits look simple from afar. Until merchandisers and brand teams manually check thousands of store photos every week, chasing planogram violations, stock-outs, and poor shelf execution that silently cost millions in lost sales. Amit Singh and Amit Srivastava lived this chaos firsthand. Both IIM Lucknow alumni with deep expertise in retail strategy and advanced computer vision AI, they launched Constems-AI Systems (CAI), a deep-tech cognitive vision platform that automates retail and supply-chain processes for global CPG enterprises using image recognition and predictive analytics. On March 11, 2026, they raised $2 million in Pre-Series A funding co-led by Finvolve and India Accelerator, with Cognifyz Technologies, AIF, Inflection Point Ventures, and IIM Lucknow Enterprise Incubation Centre (IIML EIC) Incubation Centre joining in. The round fuels product innovation, global expansion, and enterprise sales growth. The shift to AI that sees, understands, and optimizes retail execution in real time is here. Winners run on intelligence, not manual checks and gut feel. Congratulations Amit Singh, Amit Srivastava, and the Constems-AI team.

Amit Srivastava reposted thisGlad to announce our investment in Constems-AI Systems (CAI). While evaluating companies in applied AI, Constems stood out for a simple reason. In a time when almost everyone claims to be “doing AI,” many solutions still resemble services powered by AI. What impressed us here was the productization, a clear, scalable technology layer built around computer vision. Physical retail still drives the majority of global commerce, yet the store shelf remains largely data-dark. Vision AI can change that by turning simple shelf images into structured, real-time intelligence on product availability, planogram compliance, and retail execution. Amit Singh and Amit Srivastava are building exactly this visual intelligence layer through their CAInatics platform. Excited to see this space evolve and proud that at India Accelerator Finvolve we get to support founders building real AI products for the physical world.Amit Srivastava reposted thisIA expands its Frontier & Strategic Technologies portfolio by backing Constems-AI Systems (CAI), a pioneer in vision-based AI for retail intelligence. Constems-AI Systems (CAI) is building advanced AI-powered computer vision systems that transform how brands and retailers understand in-store execution, product visibility, and consumer behaviour in real time. Its flagship platform, CAInatics, leverages deep learning and visual analytics to deliver actionable insights on product availability, shelf placement, planogram compliance and retail performance across brick-and-mortar environments. By converting store-level visual data into structured intelligence, the platform enables consumer brands and retailers to improve retail execution, reduce stock-outs, optimise shelf space, and accelerate decision-making across distributed retail networks. In an industry where physical visibility directly impacts revenue, real-time retail intelligence is becoming a critical competitive advantage. Founded by Amit Singh (CEO) and Amit Srivastava (CTO), Constems AI combines deep technical expertise in computer vision and AI with a clear focus on solving large-scale operational challenges in the consumer goods and retail ecosystem. The investment will support the company’s next phase of growth as it expands product capabilities, strengthens enterprise deployments, and scales its AI-driven retail intelligence platform across global markets. At IA, we back founders building solutions that bridge advanced AI capabilities with real-world enterprise impact - where technology moves beyond experimentation to drive measurable operational outcomes. #IndiaAccelerator #IABacked #ConstemsAI #RetailTech #ComputerVision #AppliedAI #FrontierTech

Amit Srivastava liked thisAmit Srivastava liked thisI thought I’d be studying the AI wave. Not building inside it. When I left my tech role to pursue an MBA at IIM Lucknow, the plan was simple- understand AI, analyze it, maybe advise on it. Stay at a strategic distance. That plan didn’t last long. 🥳 I’ve now joined Constems-AI Systems (CAI) as a General Manager Trainee under the Avengers Program And suddenly, I’m not watching the shift anymore- I’m inside it. ✨️🎉 Working at the intersection of Industry 4.0, AI, and retail transformation, this feels exactly like where technology meets real-world impact. But here’s what stood out most - Not only the tech. But the people as well 🙌 Amit Singh - grounded, yet bold in vision. Amit Srivastava - the kind of technical depth that quietly raises your standards. Amit Sharma - our Operations Head, a master of data who sees what others miss. Being trusted by leaders like them, this early means a lot. Grateful to Nikhil Sharma and Soni Kumari for making onboarding feel less like a process and more like a welcome. Funny to see how some paths work. You step away thinking you’ve changed direction. But they circle back—bigger, clearer, and harder to ignore. And this time, you step in. #NewChapter #AI_Product_Management #DeepTech #Industry4.0 #Retail_Transformation
