Avantika Pidiha shared thisI shipped my very first app! It started with a simple question every Indian knows too well — "Khana kya banaun?" (What should I cook?) I wanted a simple app: • Suggest balanced meals • Give recipes • Let me save links from YouTube & Instagram One place for all "my food." So I built it. I didn't learn to code in 2 weeks.. I learned to orchestrate. AI tools are instruments. But to create a symphony, you need an orchestrator. ChatGPT gave me the roadmap- "Connect GitHub, deploy on Vercel, set up Capacitor, build in Android Studio." Great for direction. Not so great when things broke. Lovable helped me prototype fast- a rough working model in 2 hours. But as the codebase grew, it overwrote changes, burned credits, and struggled with debugging. Claude Code changed the game- it could actually read my entire codebase and explain why things were breaking. My meal planner was recommending eggs 3x a day for everyone. Technically correct (optimizing for B12 in a veg-heavy diet), completely useless as a product. No single tool could build this app. But together, with me orchestrating? Claude plans → Lovable implements → Vercel deploys → Claude reviews & plans again. The glue? An .md file. A simple planning doc that became the contract between tools that don't talk to each other. The real skill wasn't prompting. It wasn't debugging. It was knowing when to override all of them with a product decision. Right now, the app is live on the Play Store for testing. And the question that started it all? "Khana kya banaun?" App toh ban gayi. Now I just send the links to my cook. #BuildingWithAI #ProductDesign #VibeCoding #AITools #claudecode PS: I'd been sitting on this post for a while. Attended the Razorpay session yesterday and it was the nudge I needed. Thank you Ankit Punia, Saurabh Soni, Aakash Kikani, Sudarshan N Srinivas, aditya nawal & Akanksha Khanna for walking through your process so openly. Mine looks a little different. But core was same, the curiosity to learn & build!

Avantika Pidiha shared thisI wish I had something this simple when I started design. I built this yesterday using Figma Make, a swipeable deck that helps younger designers learn the basics of design psychology in a fun, lightweight way. It’s designed to make principles easy to remember and even easier to apply. No long articles, no heavy theory, just quick, intuitive learning. If you're just starting out or want a fast refresher, this might help you level up your fundamentals without the fluff. Link in the comments!

Avantika Pidiha shared thisI’ve been exploring ways to make design thinking more accessible, practical, and less theoretical; the way product teams actually use it. So, I built a Custom GPT that guides you through design thinking and innovation with real-world clarity. It helps you: 🔹 Break down problem statements 🔹 Strengthen PRDs and assumptions 🔹 Think deeper instead of jumping to solutions 🔹 Apply frameworks like "How Might We", "Alternate Worlds" , "AEIOU", etc. 🔹 Get constructive, direct feedback on ideas 🔹 Move through design thinking stages with structure and confidence I built this using my own notes, Harvard coursework, and hands-on product/UX experience; packaged into something anyone can use to think faster & better. If you’re building something, exploring a new feature, or want to sharpen your product thinking, try it out- 🔗 Link in the comments! And if you’re hiring someone who’s strong in problem-solving and structured thinking, consider this GPT a small window into how I approach ambiguity and break down complex problems. I’ve fed it real examples and frameworks I use daily; so I’m confident you’ll find the questions it asks (and the answers it gives) genuinely useful. Would love to hear what you think. #designthinking #productthinking #userexperience #designstrategy #customGPT #ChatGPT

Avantika Pidiha shared thisLast week, I had the opportunity to mentor final year students at NIFT Mumbai (NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FASHION TECHNOLOGY, MUMBAI) on Secondary Research & UX Audits. It was less of a lecture and more of a conversation. I discussed the projects students were already working on, how they could structure their research better, and how the kind of thinking we use in the industry can be applied in their own work. We also touched on using AI as a creative shortcut, to research faster, visualize ideas, or even just get unstuck. It was a pretty hands-on class, and I hope it helped them see design and research a little differently. Teaching, reminded me how much clarity comes from explaining what you do every day. Would love to do more of this, bridging design practice, research, and education.

Avantika Pidiha reposted thisAvantika Pidiha reposted thisOpenAI just launched ChatGPT Atlas — a brand new AI-powered web browser that can literally browse the internet for you. Atlas has ChatGPT built right in, with a sidebar that understands the page you’re on, inline writing help, natural language controls, and even Agent Mode, which can plan, research, and complete tasks automatically. It’s like a self-driving browser — perfect for research, productivity, shopping, and learning. Atlas also introduces browser memory, which syncs with your ChatGPT memory to make your experience more personal over time. #chatgpt #ai #aitools #learnontiktok #artificialintelligence #llm #tech #technology #techtok

Avantika Pidiha shared thisGood UX used to mean giving users control. Now, with AI and automation, it’s about designing for the 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗴𝗼. Here’s what I learned from reading "Designing Agentive Technology" a book by Christopher Noessel. 👇 https://lnkd.in/d5pAZRJf

Avantika Pidiha liked thisAvantika Pidiha liked thisSooo…For the last week I was quietly losing my mind trying to find a video editor in Vietnam. The product design team at Zero, me and four absurdly talented humans, is shifting from designing the product to figuring out growth marketing. Meta ads, Foreplay, competitor UGC, every rabbit hole the internet has on the topic. And in the middle of all of it, I kept thinking, Damn it! we need a real editor. Where am I going to find one of those in Hoi An, urgently. Turns out four out of four people on the team can already edit. At a level I had no idea about. Akshai Shyju learnt to make movies at NID before he learnt design. Cut, colour, art direction, all of it. Hamsa Rasheem has been doing motion graphics for fifteen years, starting as a kid on real film sets. Vengada Sabareesan's superpower is figuring out anything beyond 3D, and he just goes and does it. Sanjay Chauhan is, annoyingly, just good at everything. The gap I'd convinced myself existed didn't exist. The team I'd been working with for months had this whole other skill stack I never knew. Then a viral pigeon video showed up on Twitter. And I thought, why do we keep making sad ass performance ads? Why can't we just make fun ones, find things we actually find hilarious, and bend them toward what we want to say about Zero? What's up there is the first attempt. Akshay and Rashi pulled it off in two days. It's funnier than anything I would have written sober. A small thing you should know. Zero is opening for beta soon. My job for the next month is to get a specific number of you onto that list. Which means I'm going to be in your face. Daily. We have a lot more bangers lined up after this one, and this team is, in actual fact, insane. Save yourself the pain. Join the list now. Hats off, Akshay & Rashi. You two are absurd. • • • #BuildInPublic #FoundersJourney #ProductDesign #GrowthMarketing #StartupLife first-time founder design to growth small team marketing AI ads for startups founder journey beta launch

Avantika Pidiha liked thisAvantika Pidiha liked thisgave a design talk at the UW today #godawgs and something hit me halfway through the Q&A: students no longer see design and engineering as separate things almost every question was: “what AI tools are you using?” “are you coding your prototypes?” 4 years ago, most designers stopped at Figma now they’re using tools like Claude Code, v0, and Replit to build actual products themselves which honestly changes the role of design completely... AI isn’t replacing designers, it’s amplifying the ones who can think beyond the visuals. The real differentiator is taste, storytelling, and knowing what's actually worth building. I'm wondering what are some ways you've seen AI help you in your creative process? huge thank you to Pitch Sinlapanuntakul and University of Washington Human Centered Design & Engineering for for having me!! #design #ai

Avantika Pidiha reacted on thisAvantika Pidiha reacted on thisAfter 9 years of building AI that lived on screens, I'm joining Meta to help build the AI that lives in the real world. Starting as a Machine Learning Engineer on the Wearables Voice AI team, I'll be working on the speech and language systems behind Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses. What excites me most is building Voice AI and LLM systems that understand accents and languages at global scale, running efficiently on-device with low latency and strong privacy. Beyond simply responding to commands, pushing toward agentic AI that can perceive context, reason, and assist in real time. Grateful for an incredible 4 years at Dream11. The scale, the people, and the problems we solved together shaped me deeply as an engineer. Looking forward to this next chapter. #Meta #VoiceAI #EmbodiedAI #AgenticAI

I've been thinking about why education didn't follow. It isn't laziness. It isn't regulation. It isn't even bureaucracy. It's a business model decision, against human evolution The moment colleges personalise, the asset that prints them money, becomes irrelevant. What Hidezign looks for before starting any project. Before design. Before Figma. Before timelines. We look for clarity. Here’s what we check every time: The real problem - Not “we need a redesign.” But why something isn’t working. Business goal - More leads? More trust? Better onboarding? Design without a goal is just visuals. Target user - If you can’t clearly say who this is for, we pause. Designing for everyone helps no one. Decision flow What should the user do next? Good design guides decisions. Process mindset - We don’t jump to screens. Thinking comes first. Long-term view - We build systems, not quick fixes. That’s how we protect our clients’ time, money, and brand.

Figma Bets on India to Expand Beyond Design Design‑platform maker Figma is deepening its investment in India, opening a new office in Bengaluru and focusing hiring efforts on local developer talent, as it pivots from its core “design collaboration” identity to a broader role in engineering and product development. According to Figma, 85% of its user base is international and India already ranks as the company’s second‑largest market globally. The strategy marks a push to change perception: many Indian developers still see Figma primarily as a design tool rather than part of the full developer workflow. With India’s massive developer community and Figma’s recent launch of AI‑powered “make to code” features, the company sees an opportunity to integrate design and engineering more tightly and become embedded in end‑to‑end product creation. #TOAINews2025 #Figma #IndiaTech #DesignEngineering #ProductDevelopment #AI #DeveloperTools #TechExpansion

🚀 Why your portfolio isn’t enough—unlock clients with “micro-iteratives.” 🚀 As a Bengaluru-based designer with 8+ years in branding and product visuals, I’ve ditched static PDFs. Now, I send live, evolving micro-portfolios: bite-sized, interactive showcases that update in real-time. Unique hack #1: AI-fueled iterations in 24 hours. Client loves a logo concept? Use Grok or Firefly to spin 5 adaptive versions (vector-ready for Illustrator). Share via Figma prototypes— they see progress, not perfection. Unique hack #2: Personalized “client canvases.” Tailor a one-pager with their brand colors, mood, and my past wins. Embed Canva links for instant tweaks. Conversion rate? Skyrocketed 3x. This isn’t selling design—it’s co-creating futures. Static portfolios gather dust; micros spark deals. Designers: Tried this? What’s your client-winning secret? Share below! 👇 #GraphicDesign #PortfolioTips #AIDesignTools #Branding #ProductDesign

India is beginning to value designers as contributors to growth, not just aesthetics. A small step in policy a big signal for the design ecosystem. Budget 2026 places design education at the centre of India's growth strategy proposing a new National Institute of Design in Eastern India to nurture homegrown creative talent and close the skills gap.✍️ Good news for every designer building for India 🇮🇳 #UnionBudget2026 #DesignEducation #FutureSkills #IndianDesign #DesignPolicy #NID #uxdesigners #xr

Stop Designing for Screens. Start Designing for Thumbs. Let’s face it — users don’t browse your app with two hands on a laptop. They scroll, tap, and swipe with one thumb… on the go. 👉 In fact, 49% of users navigate their phones one-handed. If your UI ignores thumb zones — you're leaving conversions on the table. Here’s the breakdown: 🟢 Green Zone – Natural thumb area (put primary CTAs here) 🟡 Yellow Zone – Reachable but not ideal for frequent taps 🔴 Red Zone – Hard to reach (avoid placing critical actions) 🚀 Real UX = Real Behavior ✨ A beautiful UI is useless if users can't reach it. Design for ease, not just elegance. 💬 UX designers, devs, founders: What’s your #1 rule for designing mobile-first? Drop your best tip ⬇️ — let’s spark a thread of insight. #UXDesign #MobileUX #ThumbZone #UserExperience #UIDesign #MobileFirst #ProductDesign #DesignTips #HumanCenteredDesign #FigmaTips #DesignForUsers #AppDesign #UserFirst
