So, today lets talk about, how crazy things can get. Last week, I needed to print out something, tried to print on Windows 8, but for whatever reason, the printer was not compatible, so, I grabbed my laptop with Windows 7, and connected it, without the cord, so, threw in the battery. Tried to connect the printer but, for whatever reason, it failed to install even with the disk that came with the printer. so, went to the internet, or say tried. I believe I prayed to get the printer to work.

When I returned the next day, tried to get on the internet, couldn’t get on the internet and now the graphics had switched to classic, which is something I never use. I couldn’t figure this out. figured my computer was on its last leg, already the CD-rom was not working, now, there was no internet and somebody must have been inside the computer, at least that was my thought.We can think of all sorts of things when the computer is not working properly.

Maybe, the Wireless connector was also going out. I decided to restart the computer. There on the screen appeared that the battery had an issue and needed replacing, I removed the battery and guess what everything worked, printer, internet and Windows 7 was back to its normal graphics. My point is this if you are having issues with your laptop, first remove the battery and see if that fixes your problem.

Today, we are going to be talking about the disc drive or Optical Drive. It is used to retrieve and store data to be transferred to a Compact Disc. When your looking for a disc drive to replace the one that has gone bad, you want to make sure that the specifications is compatible to play Digital Versatile Disc” DVDs, or Compact disk’s.

If you want to use it as a burner, such as transferring your favorite music to a Compact Disc. You will want to see somewhere on the device that it is a Compact Disc rewritable. or DVD rewritable. Now, if you only see Compact Disc, than it will play Compact disc’s but, you won’t be able to burn or transfer your music to a blank Compact Disc. This goes also for DVD players, if it isn’t marked DVD, it won’t play DVD’s. Happy Computing and God Bless

Locked out of your Apple iPod, you might want to try this.

You have an Apple ipod, that has a password on it but, your nephew got a hold of it, and now you can’t get past the log-in screen. The Apple Ipod has locked you out. Now, what do you do? First thing make sure you have iTunes on your computer.

If you don’t have iTunes you can get it from the apple website at http://www.apple.com/itunes/ Click the iTunes tab to download it to your computer.

After downloading, you will want to take your Apple iPod and hook it to your computer. Open up iTunes, hold down the power button and the home button. When the screen goes blank, let go of the power button, continue to hold down the home button.

You should see the Apple iPod appear in iTunes. You will have two choices to pick from. One is for a new Apple iPod and the other is if you want to restore from the Apple iCloud.

If you don’t have an Apple I.D, you will be able to create one after , the software is installed. When it is done, it will display that you can disconnect your Apple iPod.

Today we are going to talk about saving all your pictures on one compact disc. First off you want to click on the start button (aero) >then pictures,this will bring up the pictures pane> click on the burn tab at the top>it will display “Insert Disc” either pick a cd or Dvd> close the cd-rom, click next on formating the disc>after this is done, it will copy the items. Push the eject on the Cd-rom. It will display “Preparing to Eject please wait while session is closed” Happy computing

warning: use this before working on a computer

Before working on the inside of a computer, you need to ground yourself. If you have ever walked across a carpeted floor, and touch the doorknob. You will remember seeing a spark, for a human no big deal. Do this to a computer and it is like a lightning bolt hitting the motherboard. So, to be safe we want to use a electrostatic discharge strap. Any computer repair shop should have these for around $10.00. It goes around your wrist, there is an alligator clip attached. Clip the alligator clip to a metal part of the computer. For laptop use a a USB port.

updating date in bios

When you switch out the battery on the motherboard, you have to reset the date in the bios. To enter the bios, restart the computer, when the screen appears, hold down the F-2 key. You should see the words “Entering Setup” The next screen you should see would be the infamous bios. To Change the date follow the instructions on the bottom of the screen which normally is a plus or Minus, use the arrow key to change the date. When you are through, you will want to save. Press the F10 key, than press enter.
