Secrets

Secrets

This is how secrets start
one person does something
harmless doesn't tell the other
and then realizes how easy
it is and that it doesn't matter
anyway as it is nothing at all
so the next time opportunity
arises the decision to say nothing
is easier and from then on there
is no need for decision and that
is how secrets start.

  1. I think this is the way a lot of things happen. One tiny thing at a time. Stealing or telling lies would happen the same way, especially with children. I like this poem a lot.

  2. Definitely how secrets can start Mary and other things as well Judy. Mary your poem gives the feel of slipping to a habit of keeping a secret so that it becomes no decision at all. Excellent.

  3. I agree with Peggy and Judy that this poem does catch the way many poor interpersonal habits form.
