IDSF Briefing: Tehran Protests Escalate: Will the Regime Fall and Will Israel Launch a Strike?

Peloni:  This is an important video.  IDSF Head of Research Or Yissachar from the David Institute, provides a breakdown on the recent rioting taking place in Iran.  Or has voiced deep scepticism about the people of Iran being ideologically driven towards removing their Mullah overlords for a very long time, a position from which he has not veered, as he anticipates the regime will weather this current storm.  He also addresses the fallout related to Venezuela and the related funding which feeds Hezbollah and Iran from the drug trade.

Netanyahu accuses opposition of courting Muslim Brotherhood, vows to block Iran’s nuclear ambitions

Peloni:  Will there be a second go at the govt of spare parts?  I doubt it, but time will tell.

A major part of any leadership, which greedy, self-serving globalist politicians have forgotten (if they ever knew it at all), is to protect a country’s citizens. Israel has faced an existential threat since the day of its founding from the neighboring Muslim countries. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is unwavering in his leadership. His focus on Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood, both of which seek to annihilate the Jewish state, is prudent. “Netanyahu vows to block Iran’s nuclear ambitions, accuses opposition of courting Muslim Brotherhood,” by Keshet Neev, Jerusalem Post, January 5, 2026:

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton Files Legal Brief Targeting American Muslims For Palestine Over Hamas Ties

Peloni:  Interestingly, Florida has not provided their own amicus brief on this case…

A Texas-led legal action argues that groups accused of aligning with Hamas should face accountability under US anti terrorism laws.

By: TheJ.ca Staff | The J.Ca | Jan 7, 2025

AUSTIN — Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed an amicus brief in support of victims of Hamas terrorism, targeting American Muslims for Palestine and other radical groups that authorities allege have aligned themselves with Hamas and its ideology. The brief, announced January 6, 2026, forms part of a multistate legal effort intended to ensure that US anti-terrorism laws are enforced against those accused of providing material or organizational support to designated terrorist entities.

Sovereignty Movement highlights importance of safeguarding Israel’s state land in Samaria, Judea

Peloni:  There can be no substitute for the extension of sovereignty over Israel’s heartlands.  This is the point raised by the Sovereignty Movement’s Nadia Matar in an interview with JNS.  Nadia makes the case so well as described here.  Everything that has been achieved in Judea and Samaria could and likely will be undone with the next rise of a Leftist govt.  To defeat this very real threat, the Israeli govt has only to do as it should have done on the day following the Six Day War, ie extending sovereignty over these lands by Israel which is the only entity which has an internationally recognized right to do so.

Deep Dive Into 2025 – A WAY FORWARD with Dr. Michael Doran

Peloni:  Mike Doran and Yishai Fleisher give a detailed look back over the past year.  As they do so, Mike discusses how the Israeli military has no interest in removing Hamas as it would only create a void for something similar to fill.  What he fails to address is that this is the very opposite of what Netanyahu has pledged, and is still holding firm, on accomplishing.  The conflict on this point exists between the upper eschelons of the Israeli military brass and the Americans on one side, with Israel’s political govt and the Israeli people on the other, making for an interesting segue into 2026.  Much more than this is covered in this conversation.

The Paris Accord Means Ukraine War Will Continue

Like Versailles, it is a Disaster for all the Players

The Paris Accord aimed at providing security and economic guarantees for Ukraine is a strange agreement. If it is taken seriously, it will convince the Russians to change their strategy in Ukraine, meaning the Russians may well decide to try and take over all of Ukraine. The Accord gives nothing at all to Russia, which was probably its intent. It has the same bad smell as the Versailles Treaty, which the US Senate rejected.

Are you ready to stand up with Iranians’ protesters?

Peloni:  To what degree is Trump likely to support the Iranian protests?  and what exactly might trigger that support, no matter the nature of that support.  I don’t foresee Trump acting to bring down the regime in Tehran, though he should do so for the simple reason that it has ambitions and significant capabilities of one day bringing down the West.  The Iranians have been aided by American intransigence over the years, but also by significant actions taken by the US which helped inject the Mullahs in power, stabilize their regime and to eliminate their greatest regional Muslim opposition in Iraq.  Will the US finally balance the books and offer meaningful support to the people of Iran?

How can the Iranian citizens’ noble fight against a repressive, homophobic, sexist, anti-American theocracy be met with yawns, while democratic Israel’s heroic acts of self-defense trigger worldwide protests?

Syrian Army Moves on Kurdish Areas | Aleppo Fighting Resumes [7 January 2026]

Peloni:  As the US is pressuring Israel to come to terms with the Jihadist regime under Jolani, Jolani reaffirms his Jihadist goals of subjugating all opposition with an open assault on the Kurds as the American remain supportively and shamefully silent.  The Kurds recently offered terms under which they would merge with the Syrian army, but these terms were soundly rejected by Jolani.  Is the assault on Aleppo the counter offer?

Qatar is top foreign funder of US Higher Education, By 50%

Peloni:  The US Dept of Education posted a new interactive dashboard depicting the top ten foreign countries funding US colleges and universities.  Qatar lies at the top, making up for nearly 11% of all foreign funding to US colleges and universities, and nearly 50% more than the next highest donor.  Meanwhile the next 5 highest include Germany, England, China, Canada and Saudi Arabia, each of which spend about $4 billion, or about 6.5% of all foreign funding to higher education.

When looking at the specific institutions receiving the funding, we see that Harvard receives $4 billion per year, which is 6.4% of all foreign donations, and this is nearly a third more than the next highest recipient, Cornell University, which receives about $3 billion.

Also, these are simply the funding of higher education institutions in the US.  See comment by Eitan Fleischberger on the amounts spent on K-12 schools by foreign govts.  The US needs to reclaim its education process.  It is selling its future by indoctrinating its youth and children with false narratives and anti-American and antisemitic teachings.  No matter what else the US might try to do to Make America Great Again, failing to return its education towards American values, celebrating American Judeo Christian heritage will undermine all other initiatives aimed at this goal.

Socialism Works. Democratic Socialism Will Work Even Better

By Alexander G. Markovsky

Image via AI

Opponents of socialism often cite Cuba, Venezuela, and the former Soviet Union as evidence that the system “doesn’t work.” They argue that, unlike earlier economic arrangements — slavery, feudalism, and capitalism — each of which was explicitly organized around producing wealth, and each of those systems was superior to its predecessor in its capacity to generate it, socialism has failed to create a higher level of economic prosperity.

A Space-Based Solution to China’s Cable-Cutting Threat

Peloni:  Fascinating!

Janet Levy | Am Thinker | January 7, 2026

Image generated by ChatGPT.

In March last year, China unveiled a cable-cutting device capable of operating 4,000 meters underwater. This underscores a significant vulnerability that few consider: 99% of international data travels through about 600 subsea fiber optic cables, totaling nearly 1.48 million kilometers of cable susceptible to attack.

Yogi Berra, President Trump & the hope for a much better Middle East..

by Gerald A. Honigman

Before beginning my actual response to current events involving President Trump’s welcome warning to the brutal Ayatollah and his mullah accomplices in the Islamic Republic of Iran—who don’t even consider themselves part of the proud ancestral Iranian/Aryan people and nation—I began the day by reading an article by The Free Press’s Johanna Berkman dealing with some tenured, pseudo-intellectual, know nothing, Left of Lenin Hebrew professor, Eric Cheyfitz, forcing an Israeli student out of his class dealing with the Gaza war.

THREE WAYS TO SLANT THE NEWS AGAINST ISRAEL

Dr. Rafael Medoff

There are many ways to slant the news against Israel. An article in the New York Times this week demonstrated three techniques.

The January 2 article, by staff correspondents Liam Stack and Jeffery C. Mays, focused on the Israeli government’s criticism of the decision by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani to revoke two executive orders issued by his predecessor to combat antisemitism.

Slanting Technique #1:

Israel – an unpopular regional superpower

Peloni:  It is enough that Israel should be feared, that her detractors should grasp that attacking her will bring disaster, and that attempts to conquer her will bring about their downfall and humiliation.

By Steve Kramer

Iron Beam. Image via AIIron Beam. Image via AI

Israel has made operational its latest defensive weapon, the Iron Beam. (Some critics say this gives Israel a disproportionate advantage. I hope so.) “Iron Beam” is a take-off on Iron Dome, the kinetic defensive shield that has protected Israel from the worst consequences of attacks against it. The Iron Beam offers low-cost laser interception of drones, rockets, and missiles, while reducing reliance on costly interceptors. Whereas the Iron Dome defense cost is about $50,000 per successful interception, the Iron Beam cost per interception is negligible. (Nevertheless, the Iron Dome will remain an important weapon in Israel’s arsenal.)
