We are proud that a deal advised by Linklaters Italy has been recognised as Hybrid Deal of the Year MENA at the Infra Global Awards 2025.   The award-winning transaction relates to the financing of a landmark solar photovoltaic and battery energy storage project in Egypt, supporting the country’s green energy transition and grid stability.   Congratulations to Tessa Lee, Benedetta Marino, Alessandro Gemmo, Matteo Bencic and Riccardo Sirchia for their work on this transaction.   At this year’s awards, two further Linklaters-advised transactions were also recognised: 📌 Rumah 1 and Nairyah 1 CCGT IPPs as Carbon Capture Deal of the Year, and 📌 ADNOC Oil Pipelines – Project Trio as Midstream Deal of the Year.   Together, these awards reflect the breadth of Linklaters’ energy and infrastructure capabilities across the region, combining experience in renewable energy, battery storage and carbon capture-ready generation with strength in complex infrastructure financing.

⚖️ Italy's insolvency framework already has an expansive avoidance actions regime and established rules on creditors' committees, but currently lacks, among other things, a formalised pre-pack mechanism and a fixed time limit for directors to file for insolvency, areas targeted by the EU's new insolvency Harmonisation Directive.   🔗 Formal transposition in Italy has not yet started, with the Directive expected to be implemented primarily through amendments to the Crisis and Insolvency Code. We were delighted to host the event "Investing together in Italy – Conversations over Italy’s corporate landscape" at our London office on Monday 5 October, bringing together international investors for a discussion on Italy’s evolving investment landscape through the lens of the City.   The event was opened by Aedamar Comiskey, Senior Partner and Chair of Linklaters, and Massimiliano Nitti, Head of Corporate of Linklaters Italy. Lucrezia Reichlin, Professor of Economics at London Business School, offered a thoughtful overview of Italy’s economic outlook in the wider European context, highlighting the country’s strengthened credibility and distinctive industrial strengths.   The discussion reflected the value of creating space for open, high-quality exchange between investors and advisers active across Italy and the UK. We look forward to building on this conversation in the future.
