One month with me

In typical mommy fashion — we are late. Mommy is absolutely in love with me, and stares at me constantly…I don’t mind. It’s still the early days, but like most parents, mine think that I’m advanced. I’m beginning to smile outside of sleep, and it’s likely I’ll begin rolling over on my own early.

Tummy time isn’t my favorite, but I make do. I used to scream bloody murder during bath time, but now I sit and coo lovingly at mom and dad as they bathe me. I still don’t like the coconut oil rubdown after, but I heard mommy say that she has a towel warmer on the way to make the transition from the warm bath easier on me. Hey, there’s a reason why my grandma calls me “Princess Elizabeth.”

I’m pretty much exclusively breastfed and titty juice is my favorite. When all else fails, all mommy has to do is take out those flapperoos and I’ll work my way into contentment.

Today is my first real snow day, and I’m all bundled up, sleeping in front of the fireplace. As my mommy says — “life is generous.”

2016: a year into marriage. The year I got laid off from a fortune10 company, which was the best thing to ever happen to my career. Negotiated a $10k salary increase 2 months later, then another $25k 5 months after that. Birthday in Chicago. Took my momma to Paris-Amsterdam-Amalfi late summer. Back when the music was REALLY good. A reminder that life has always been generous one way or another and I’ve always been ✨that girl✨.

A mother’s love

We are still at least a month or two out from Elizabeth (and mommy) being ready for her crib, but I just love this space. Creating something beautiful for her, fills me with so much joy and pride.

I had planned to do a 3-part series: the reveal ✅, mood board/sourcing/before and after, and a cost breakdown. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again - I had very minimal ideas, so I went into her nursery design a bit blind.

A year of gratitude

I can’t believe I didn’t cry making this. It’ll probably happen after I watch it for the 100th time 🤭.

We had a lot of “firsts” in this household this year. We loss some, but we won so much more. As I sit here as a first time mom, watching my babygirl smile in her sleep, I am beyond grateful. We kicked infertility’s ass like it had been kicking ours. In other words, We got our lick back 🤣 #iykyk

2025 was good to us, and I am claiming it now that 2026 will be even better.

So blessed…

These were supposed to be holiday card photos, but your girl is TIED. Running around trying to collect addresses and dealing with the post office just wasn’t in the cards (hehe) this year.

…and what a freakin’ year, yall! Every now and then, I think to myself “how is all of this real?!” To start the year off with back to back failed IVF cycles and egg retrievals, to welcoming a babygirl.

If you’re reading this, I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season. I hope that our story serves as a continuous reminder that things can always get better. That so much can change in just one year.
