Which Is Me!

Within my earthly temple, there’s a crowd;
There’s one of us that’s humble, one that’s proud;
There’s one that loves his neighbor as himself;
And one that cares for naught but fame and self.
There’s one that’s broken – hear ted for his sins;
And one that unrepentant sits and grins.
From much corroding care I should be free,
If once I could determine which is me!

Favorite Sayings!

Thank God for friends,
more prized as years increase.
Let all else, if must be cease;
But, the Lord of life, I pray on me bestow
The gift of friends to share the way I go.
— Thomas Curtis Clark—

A familiar road
is like an old friend who every
so often startles with an unexpected
quirk of personality; while a heretofore
untraveled one is a new acquaintance
whose character is yet to be appraised.

Witnessing for Him

Oh! that my tongue might so possess

The accent of His tenderness

That every word I breathe should bless.

For those who mourn a word of cheer,

A word of hope for those who fear,

And love to all men far and near.

Oh! that it migjht be said of me,

” Surely thy speech betrayeth thee

As friend of Christ of Galilee.”

Reflections

When I awoke this morning, my thoughts returned to the younger days of my life. The days when when my four children were small and they dressed up in their new dresses and and my son in his new suit went to Sunday school and could hardly wait to get back home to open the Easter baskets my wife had so wonderfully prepared the night before; they really liked the gift and the thought behind them. This reminds me of the greatest gift ever given, the gift of eternal life, from our Heavenly Father, through the shed blood of Jesus His only Son and His resurrection to now sit at the right hand of His Father until God says, Son go bring your bride, His church home. Easter is a time of celebration of the victory we have in Jesus!
