Monthly Archives: November 2015

EVENING THOUGHTS

It is late November,

skies are a dull grey,

children are in the house,

they don’t want to play.

When I was a child,

we stayed outside,

when it was cold,

and when it was mild.

Now they text,

no time to exercise,

they grow up,

they grow round,

watching computer screens,

that is where they are found.

It is late November,

snow coming down,

soon Christmas will come,

maybe the children,

on that day,

get outdoors and play.

PONDERING!

As the sun sets,

over the lonely,

November hills;

In the air,

there is a bitter chill,

the robins are gone,

and the wild goose too.

The days are short,

the nights are long,

but we can still,

sing and enjoy songs.

Christmas songs come to mind,

” There is no place like home “,

“Silver Bells” and ” O, come all ye faithful”,

along with ” White Christmas”,

and “Silent Night”.

Soon all the Christmas trees,

nice trees will be trimmed,

tinsel and roping everywhere,

December will not be,

be so lonely and drear,

because the season of  Christmas,

Christmas joy is here.

TODAY’S PSALMS!

Act 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

Psalm 120King James Version (KJV)

120 In my distress I cried unto the Lord, and he heard me.

Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.

What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?

Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.

Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar!

My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.

I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.
