Valentine's Weekend

We had an awesome Valentine's Weekend with the Rudens. They let us spoil their romantic getaway by inviting us to their beach house. The pictures are not in order, but here are some of the highlights:

JP could not believe that he got to drive his truck on the beach. He woke up the next morning and said, "I fulfilled a dream of mine yesterday...I got to drive on the beach." We'll scratch that one off of the bucket list. Next one on JP's list: hunting a wild bore with only a knife in Hawaii with my dad (to fulfill my dad's dream. Don't ask). I think we all have crazy dreams hidden in us somewhere, right?

This sand dune was HUGE and so fun to run down.
This is fo' real!
One day we will have a camera with a flash. Annie had her so-called 'zen' moment while feeding Andrew on the edge of the cliff. It was actually pretty cool if you ask me. Andrew was a perfect baby the entire trip!
We went on a beautiful hike through a green, green forest and ended up overlooking the coast. We got to see lots of Elk on the way back.
The girls

Our little fam. Baby peach (we're making progress from little lime) liked it a lot :)

Dreams really do come true! JP's living proof.

Corn dogs held a special place in the hearts of this crew. JP chipped his tooth the night I broke up with him (when we were dating ) while chewing the 'nubbin' off the end of a corn dog stick. He still has a love-hate relationship with corn dogs. If you haven't heard the full version of the story, you are missing out. Annie, on the other hand, has a pure love for corn dogs that started when she was pregnant and has continued ever since. Seriously, she had me pumped to eat this corn dog. Let's just say the garden burger was much better than the corn dog in my eyes, but I think everyone else in the group would disagree. Oops, I mean... the corn dog was incredible, Annie!

Two lovebirds pondering the meaning of life

I would eat a corn dog every weekend if I knew I was going to have that much fun. The pictures don't even do the coast, the forest, or me (jk) justice. We had lots of fun exploring the coast, playing Rockband (Dan and Annie have mad skills), sleeping in, playing with Andrew, eating and making yummy food (except for my frosting), and hanging out. It was such a perfect weekend. I'm ready for another one. Thanks for inviting us! We owe you big time. Happy late Valentine's day everyone (in case you didn't know everything I do is late, and I love parentheses). XOXOXOXOXXXOO

For the love of the game

I saw this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOkF0McZKIw&feature=emailon my friend Hayden's blog and had to steal it. JP's famous last words tonight, "Just one quick game. I promise." I warned him that I would quote him on that and he said I could. Hmm, I thought one game took 12 minutes, but somehow that 12 minutes has turned into an hour and he's still going strong. He SWEARS he's not a gamer, but I beg to differ. The gamers even have a secret code: "There's a rock in my shoe." It took me about two seconds to figure it out. It means, "My wife wants me to stop playing." It's more of a statement than anything else. No action occurs and they keep playing all night. What's not to love about that?
