Janna's Milestones at 6 months old
  1. Can now eat solid food. She started eating cereals two weeks before her 6th month birthday. 1 tsp once or twice a day. On her 6th month birthday, I gave her mashed squash from Gerber. She love it! But I gave her a homemade one earlier, and she doesn't like it. i don't know why.
  2. Knows how to greet her lolo and lola by running to them (with the help of a walker, of course) whenever they're at the doorstep already.
  3. She loves grabbing everything she sees. She knows how a water dispenser works (oo ... alam niya ... at muntikan pa yung hot ang pinindot niya.) She loves holding our Christmas tree na muntik na natumba sa kakahila niya. She almost pulled our telephone cord 3 days ago ... buti nalang nasalo ng isang maid namin at hindi sa kanya bumagsak.
  4. She smiles whenever you smile at her. But rarely does it to a stranger.
  5. Can hold her bottle already but only for a few seconds.
  6. She drinks 8oz. of milk every 3 hours.
  7. When you tell her, "Janna, punta tayo ng Trinoma!" she'll open her mouth in awe.
  8. She knows how to smile and pose in camera.
  9. Practicing her sitting skills ... she's still learning the concept of balance.
  10. When she sees her photo, she laughs smiles and giggles with glee.
  11. Loves to see her reflection in the mirror.
  12. Sometimes you don't need to lull her to sleep ... she'll sleep all by herself.
  13. She already have favorite TV shows like The Wonder Pets, Diego the Animal Rescuer and Dora the Explorer. She likes TV commercials of Colgate ... all as in basta may ngumingiti gusto niya at may masayang tugtog.
  14. Sometimes we hear her as if she's like singing a song. May tune kasi pero it's all babbling.
  15. She's babbling a lot lately ... as if she wants to carry a conversation to whom she is talking to. Usually she does that to her Dad and her Lolo hihihi.
  16. She's now good on face recognition ... yung pedia nga niya umiiyak na siya pag nakikita na niya si Dra.

Milestone at 5 months:
  1. Now weighs 6.4 kilos, 64 cm in height.
  2. She can now grasp firmly. She loves pulling my hair (ouchie!) and holding my shirt whenever I hold her.
  3. Loves to put everything she can reach in her mouth (waaaaaaahhhhh!)
  4. She can sleep side to side without me worrying that she might suffocate herself when she sleeps lying in her tummy position.
  5. When sleepy, just put her in my chest, sing her a lullaby and she'll fall asleep (hay good girl!)
  6. We can now carry her without back support. But still, she doesn't want to be worn in a sling (hay sayang yung 2 slings na binili ko tsk!)
  7. Water addict! She loves drinking water after playtime and after feeding. My mom tried her to drink in a glass. It's so amazing she already knew the concept.
  8. Rolling over is her favorite pastime. She even watches TV lying in her tummy.
  9. Can say the word "in-de" meaning no. And a lot of times I heard from her she says "yea" for yes hihihi.
  10. She can now touch her knees when in sitting position.
  11. Knows how to make "mano" to elders. When we say "bless" and let her hold our hands in a "mano po" way, she automatically put your hand in her forehead and smile.
  12. Trying to walk already if you put her in a standing position (of course, with support) ... she can't even sit alone or crawl hahaha! (masyadong nagmamadali)
  13. She's discovering her voice lately, how it sounds like when she shouts when angry or pissed, when she's laughing.
  14. She knows how to imitate your words thru intonation and pitch.
  15. She knows to stick out her tongue when we say "where's your tongue"
Hay dami milestone yehey! She's growing up so fast ... next month she'll be having her first solid food experience. Oh I can't wait. Jason and I are starting to canvas on high chairs that is durable and comfortable for Janna. But that would wait till next month.

Thank God she's ok now but still under medication. She's taking her antibiotics until Wednesday and nebulize every 6 hours until there's no sign of colds. Good thing the coughing stopped totally. But a little bit of the cold is still present. She's so active and malikot. We can't leave her now alone in bed grabe!

More photos here.

Reading to your baby, even at this young age, will pay off. Hearing you read helps your baby develop an ear for the cadence of spoken language. Varying the pitch of your voice, using accents, and singing will make the connection between you and your baby that much more interesting.

If your baby looks the other way or loses interest while you're reading, just try doing something else and give her time to rest. Take your cue from your baby's responses.

You'll find plenty of good books to read to your baby — such as Goodnight Moon, Good Night Gorilla, and The Big Red Barn. Choose board books that have large, bright pictures and simple text — or even wordless books with pictures for you to narrate. At this point you don't have to be slavish to age guidelines. Books designed for older children can captivate a baby if they have clear, crisp images and bright colors.

Your baby has been able to recognize you since he was just a few days old, but now he may actually be able to show it. About half of babies this age begin to exhibit an obvious recognition of their parents.

Your baby will probably continue to smile at strangers, especially when they look him straight in the eye and coo or talk to him. But he's starting to sort out who's who in his life, and he definitely prefers you, your partner, and perhaps a few others.

Your baby may quiet down and make eye contact with you, or he may search for you in a room and move his arms in excitement or smile when he finds you. He may even find your scent calming and comforting.

Julianna Alyssa's Christening 07.26.2008

Photos are still with our official photographer Ging Lorenzo. She did a great job kahit super gulo namin eh super patient siya sa amin. Since in two weeks time pa namin ma-rereceive yung photos from her, I'll give you a sneek peek of Janna's Christening yesterday. Shots was taken by me and my brother, Sherlloyd.

It's a day full of love ... I was really surprised with Janna. Pero other than that, she's one happy baby kaya marami natuwa sa kanya ng sobra.

Thanks to all who came ... and to our Baby Janna, welcome to the Christian World.

A Birthday and New Year's Celebration

I've been slacking in updating my blog again. Since our housemaid left last Dec. 28, there were some responsibilities again that I have to handle like cooking the food for the family and doing the dirty dishes. Gardening, the dogs, and house cleaning was kuya and Jason's responsibility. I've been keeping myself busy lately. My OB told me that some of the symptoms I've been encountering this past few days are just normal and nothing to worry about. She told me to keep myself busy so as not to concentrate too much on my pregnancy and live normal. In other words ... napapraning lang daw ako hehehe!

Last Dec. 30, I celebrated my 30th birthday ... yes, I'm another year older. Hay o hay! Well, that's life, ika nga nila lahat naman tayo patungo dun. So far, lahat naman na na-envision ko na mangyayari sa akin bago ako mag-30 eh nangyari na except to ride a plane and travel abroad. Yun lang ... anyway, magagawa ko naman yun even if I'm married and have kids di ba?

Yup, this is me on the day of my birthday. But when my friend, Me-anne told me they're coming for my birthday, eh nagpa-deliver na ako sa Goldilocks! Good thing, I have a friend there who works in Goldilocks. I just texted my order and on the day of my birthday, it's ready to pick up na. Ang saya nga may gift pa ako hihihi!

Yan lang matino namin shots that day wahahaha! Ang kukulit no? And ang tummy ko... looks so like bilbil hehehe!

Here are some of the gifts I got from them. Natuwa ako sa gift ni Angie, hindi talaga nila ginagawa to for sale sa Goldilocks, pero nagpa-personalized siya just for me. And mind you, sarap nung cake na yan. Royal icing ba naman binamit.... cake pambata hehehe. I so love the bag Relly and Me-anne gave me. I haven't used it but I'm sure I'll be using it anytime soon hehehe. Vena gave all her friends this cute dog stuff toy ... and it's so sweet of her at naalala niya ako. But the best gift I've receive this year is the coming of baby "J" on May 2008. Just like what Jason told me, it's the best gift ever hehehe! Oh, hubby bought me the Harry Potter 7 book and My Baby Book. Never been so happy!

After my birthday comes New Year's Eve. We have a simple medya noche dinner ... leftover from yesterdays feast hehehe and some lechon, a gift from our ninong in Cebu weeeee! No videoke for that night since it's so foggy outside because of the fumes coming from fireworks. I was forced to wear a surgical mask during the event ... here are some of the photos:

Sino ba yan buntis na yan? Ang laki ng pata? wahahaha! Ngayon ko lang na-realize, di manlang ako nagbihis ng maayos for the New Year celebration hehehe. So thats it... hope everybody had a blast in welcoming the new year. Sana maging maunlad ang ating bagong taon.

Happy 1st Anniversary!

Credits:
Pretty Pink Kit by: Lindsay Jane Designs
Journal Strip by Misty Cato

Since I can't get out of the house just to buy an anniversary card for my only one love, I just forced my creative juices to come out and do a layout. This is the farthest thing I could come up as of this moment.

As an anniversary thingy ... I'll share again my entry of our love story I posted on our Wedding Announcer account.

This is my side of the story:

I was a fresh graduate then, applying for a job in Designtech Consultancy and Management. While waiting for the person in charge for my interview, I stayed at their receiving area just in front of the receptionist desk. Then a guy went inside to punch in his DTR card. He's smiling actually and I smiled back. The receptionist was teasing him that time and was about to make his attempt to tease her back when he stepped on something that almost tripped him down. The receptionist laugh so hard, and so did I ... not because natisod siya but because of the laughs they both shared with the incident.
Obviously, I got the job. After that, I was introduced to the whole staff. Heading to the Architectural Dept. where I would meet the person in-charge with me, the person who will sign my logbook for my board exams ... to my surprise ... was the same guy I laughed about that morning ... Oh no! He's my boss!

Arch. Jason D. Jamias, baby face (he was 25 then and I'm 22), very poised, looks serious. I didn't know at first we could get along. He's a jack of all trades, one hell of an alaskador. When he laughs nawawala mata niya. Everybody just loves him. An architect for four years already (after graduation, took the board exam and passed agad! galing ng baby ko), he really knows his craft. No wonder at that age, he handles that position.

As days went by, we became close. He was like a long lost friend. Opposites really attract. He's an introvert and I'm an extrovert. He wasn't just my boss, he became my bestfriend. Every lunch time, he never fails to give me a Tofiluk chocolate bar. He always walks me hanggang sa terminal ng jeep after office hours. He helpedme a lot when it comes to our field. How to master the CAD software, to know how to write BOQ's and the do's and don't of Specs. Writing. Even if work has filed up on him, he still takes time to answer my queries. Sometimes, he lets me checks errors in drawings so that it would be easier for him to revised it in the computer. We write each other through the use of Word Doc and save it in a diskette so we could read it at home. Lahat ng angst namin sa work nakalagay dun. Ang corny ba? Nah I don't think so. Knowing Jason, that's something sweet kasi wala sa personalidad niya yun.
He's courting somebody that time. I became his "ligaw" consultant. But little did he know, I became jealous of that girl everytime we talked about her. He even have a picture of her on his desktop. And kainis pa dun, some of our officemates tells me they thought it was me when viewd from afar ... heller??? mas maganda kaya ako dun?

As friends, I gathered all my guts for us to talked about our very complicated relationship. I don't want myself to be left hanging. I know there's something going on between us but we're both afraid we'll gonna lose the friendship if love will come our way. I didn't get the answer right away. Play safe siya kumbaga. My treatment towards him became cold. Phone calls became less, I tend to be more masungit and mataray towards him pero he's there pa rin and never left me.

One fine day, the moment was right but not the right place (literally, it is not the right place hahaha!), July 6, 2000, we became "us". I made my bestfriend the happiest person alive. I'm his first and he was my last. And for almost six years of being together... Finally, I'm going to marry my bestfriend.

And here's Jason side of the story:

I met Sheryl in our office at Designtech as a CAD operator. She saw me first having a blooper (what a nice way to see me at first time, hehehehe), I was tripped by a cabinet handle at our secretary’s table while she was sitting at the waiting area. Sheryl giggled at my blooper that time.

Actually I’m the supervisor of the Architectural division in our office, so I handle all the CAD operators including Sheryl. Sheryl just graduated in college when she started working; obviously she tends to ask me questions on how to do some drawings and advises how to simplify commands in AutoCAD program. We eat lunch sitting beside each other, share stories during lunch break, even exchange letters about our life, and accompany her to a jeepney terminal wherein she rides to get home. From thereon we developed a special friendship, and some of our officemates usually talks about our being so close with each other.

During that time I’m courting a girl named Nil, I usually asked Sheryl how to make my date memorable. Sheryl on the other hand had a crush with one of our CAD operators named Arnel, I got jealous when I knew that. Every after date I made, I share with her stories what had happened to my date. But some of the stories about my date are just made up, because I want to see her reactions if she will also get jealous. I think I got my purpose from doing that.

Then came the unexpected day, we had a general membership meeting at the UAP Capitol Chapter. Sheryl joined us to fix ourselves together with our friends Dex and Dax. A question that can never be answered by “NO”, I was asked by Dex, what’s the real thing between us, then Sheryl asked me the same question, I was silenced and answered...

WE’RE GETTING MARRIED ON OCTOBER 28, 2006. (did I answered the question?)
Enough of the mushy stuff... To my labs, I know words can't express how much I feel for you. I'm just thankful to God that we have survived the 1st year of our lives together and looking forward to the next coming years. And I know next year is the best anniversary we will gonna have because of the little angel that will be coming this May of 2008. Thank you for taking care of me coz I know I've been a pain in the neck lately due to pregnancy woes and all. I'm sure it would all be worth it. I love you so much! Happy Anniversary!

"Pooh-roza" is a name Jason thought of when we got this new toy. Because of the tangerine color like sort of Winnie the Pooh's color. Pooh-roza is a 1992 Model of Feroza. Got it for a good price. One reason Jason sold Pachuchay is because he needs a utility car for his work. Going to sites, going to meetings, loading some last minute materials needed for construction... I mean, how can it all fit in a car? But this baby, even if it is small, can fit a lot of stuff inside it. Maybe a little pimp would do. But as of now, we love it's performance. Medyo matagtag kasi eh. What do you expect? This babies were made for rough roads. hehehe!

Pooh-roza, welcome to our family! Looking forward to share some great memories with you :)

I used the Star-Sweet Plopper from Digital Scrapbookplace. Ploppers muna kasi I'm trying to get used of digiscrapping kasi. Medyo di pa nga ako magaling ... di bale. Memories of Laoag

Today is my last day at work. Mr. Onogi (one of our Japanese boss) will treat the girls out to lunch. Hehehe sabi kasi ni Maam Alma, pet niya kasi ako hehehe ... ever favorite ... Ginagawa ko lang normal ang araw as much as possible. Ayokong umiyak waaaaaaaahhhh!

Here are some things I'll gonna miss pag nasa Manila na ako...

SCENIC SPOTS... to name a few, Fort Ilocandia, Pagudpud, Bangui Bay Wind Farm, Burgos Lighthouse, Patapat Falls, Patapat Bridge, Paoay, Malacañang of the North, Batac, Pasuquin, Laoag ... basta madami hahaha! Food ... empanada espesyal, bagnet, pinakbet, longganisang vigan, chichacorn, KBL (kamatis, bagoong and lasona (fresh onion), at marami pang iba.

I'm getting married in 3 months so I have to leave Laoag for my full blast preparation on our wedding.

So folks ... I'll see you when I see you all. Maliit at bilog ang mundo kaya magkikita pa tayo lahat! I'll gonna miss you all ... salamat sa mga wishes ninyo for me and Jason. I love you all!

Goodbye Laoag ... Manila, I'm coming home!
