Totally totes

cotton totes, glass beads, 30 x 30

Some time ago, I made a panel from cotton shopping totes from a bookstore. Then I added the red and green strips – not a success so it got put aside for a while. I cut it up and added some beads to rescue it. Better than before, but still not a winner.

Slow stitching 7

cotton, machine stitching, beads,
size 20 x 25 cms (8″ x 10″ approx.)

I cut this one from a test piece that was lying around and embellished it with beads.

Apart from the occasional slow stitching panel, I’m working on a small collage journal and also on a couple of art journals. However, this month’s focus will be on cross stitch, hoping to get a couple of things done.

Journal Pages 2025 – Circles #29 & #30

I’m ending the series with two for the price of one –

Circle #29, 18 cms (7″ approx.), cotton batiks, sequins, seed beads,
embroidery thread

Circle #30, 18 cms (7″ approx.), cotton, seed beads,
embroidery thread

This one didn’t turn out as planned. Maybe next time…

I’m collecting ideas and material for a 2026 series of journal pages. Don’t expect any of them too soon as there are other things I’m currently working on. More next week.

Journal Pages 2025 – Circle #23

Circle #23, 18 cms (7″ approx.), cotton, acrylic paint,
embroidery thread

A collaboration with my sister of some kind. She made this linocut in art class at school decades ago. I kept it when she discarded her works. Some time ago I pulled a test print from the linocut from which I cut this circle. After some thinking and testing I decided to leave it as is.
