Christmas and a New Year

It was hard to wait for Christmas this year! We were all looking forward to it! The kids are at such a fun age where the magic of Christmas is still very real and they love everything about it. The boys and I met Nana and G &G Heagy outside of Choteau to go Christmas tree hunting. Jared couldn't leave Shelby since he was on call, so he and Brielle stayed home. The weather was really warm and it was great to spend the day in the mountains. We found a nice tree for Jorden and Ariel but struggled to find a big tree for us. Nana suggested we crossed the river and look. We piggybacked the boys across and saw a big blue spruce up a wash. It was a beast to cut down and it tried pulling us down river when we crossed again. It was quite the adventure! Christmas Eve the Weishaar clan came to our house for dinner, games, and to watch the kids act out the Nativity. Brig really got into his role as director/producer/actor. Benson started out as a shepherd but was quick to jump in as a baby Jesus when Maggie  didn't want to do it. The kids came up with some of their own lines and it was honestly the best part of my Christmas. Sadly, I didn't get any pictures. Christmas eve the kids went to bed eagerly and were upset with us when we didn't get right to bed too. "Mom, Dad, go to bed or Santa won't come!!" They slept in until 7 am which I was happy about. The boys were excited about their all terrain RC monster trucks and laser tag. Brielle was most excited about her new twin dollies. I got a mantle for our fireplace and a couple of matching benches and frames for our bathroom mirrors. It's been so great having some projects get done around the house. New Year's eve we spent the day at the carousel. Every ride we had to pry Brielle off of one of the horses. She loved it! Her first ride she squealed "whee" the whole time!

Fall 2020

Back to school we go! Things look a little different this year but we are just glad the kids can go to school! Brig is in 3rd grade with Mrs. White and Benson is in 1st with Mrs. Canada. Benson says the funniest things. When he found out Mrs. Canada is from the Philippines, he said, "Wait, she's not even from Canada??" Brielle misses the boys while they are at school but also enjoys having Mom to herself. Brig had a short soccer season (Benson did not want to play). He really caught on to positions this year and scored several goals and was a great team player. I did some canning and more painting in the house. Brielle turned 18 months and is a messy eater and needs more than one bath a day. She climbs everything and is very strong-probably our most athletic child. The boys lost a lot of teeth-Brig had some pulled to get ready for braces. We had warm weather for the most part- Jared and Jorden fixed the wave runner and we took it out in October! Jared and I escaped for a few days to Sedona- somewhere we've wanted to visit for a long time! It is beautiful there. Thanks Mom for watching the kids so we could go! For Halloween we had a princess, a dragon, and a knight. I was a chef and Jared was a monk for our murder mystery night. We hosted Thanksgiving at our house with Nana, Jake and Rachel and crew. We ate a lot of food and had a relaxing day.
