Summer time
Splash!
Josie fears water, apparently, deeper than 6 inches. So this little splash pad is fantastic.
Fun tip: dried ice-cream that mommy may continuously forget to wash off carseat eventually wears off all by itself.
Mostly.
I should probably go clean that.
Mandy's artwork is just...adorable. I would really love to just save it all.
| notice daddy's spikey hair. ever since he shaved it down, this is how he is represented. Sorry for the sidewayness. |
| Mandy and Josie. How adorable are those glasses?! |

Cookies
Mandy recently passed her apron on to Josie Lynn, and received a new one in return. So we celebrated by making cookies.

The Flag's Birthday
The Fourth of July, or "The Flag's Birthday" as Mandy likes to call it, was a very low key affair this year. Mandy still deemed it "the best day EVER" and one of her favorite holidays. Josie Lynn did not enjoy the fireworks. Poor baby (pure terror when that first one went off).

I'm so glad when daddy comes home!
Jeff was gone for scout camp this past week, so it was just me and the girls!
We kicked it off with a trip to the children's discovery museum. I'd never been, and it was pretty neat! Both girls really enjoyed it.
Mandy fell in love with the Merida doll from Brave. I wasn't going to buy it for her (the girl's got enough toys and she hadn't even seen the movie), but she offered to buy it herself. Took pretty much every cent in her piggy bank, but she did it!
So I decided to treat her to her first movie-theater experience.
The rest of the week we just hung out and had fun.
But it is super nice to have our daddy back

Why, hello.
So I'm sitting thinking about all that has happened since my Dec. 2011 post, and I'm quite honestly a little overwhelmed. Like, why is it JUNE?! Josie has turned one, Mandy is now four...I have birthday photos, but I honestly may need to skip those.
We took the girls down to the Bellagio to see the gardens and fountains. These two photos are perfect representations of their feelings about this event.
Walmart had some friends visiting from the moapa petting zoo one saturday. Mandy insisted on hanging out there for quite awhile, informing all comers that not only was there a baby wallaby on the premises, but also an armadillo that rolled into a ball when he saw foxes.
Josie likes to jump off of things. And make faces.
We made delicious homemade vanilla ice cream. Add whip cream and caramel syrup...yum.
We also took the girls on their first campout!

This is me updating the blog
.....
No, not really.
I can't even distract you with cute pictures of the girls, since the last time I downloaded pictures from my camera was... well, the last time I posted! (oops.)
They're still pretty cute.
(what, go allllll the way downstairs and get the camera? not likely)
I'm going completely insane, so be kind to me, please.
