Fish stories

We found out that one of the lakes was to be stocked with 2200 fish on 4/13, really it is during that WEEK. So we were skunked, no fish.
We took the kids fishing. It didn't last too long when Camden jumped into the lake with excitement. Needless to say, my 18 month old doesn't know how to swim. It was scary for me. He thought it was funny. I think he is crazy.
Later that week we found out that they had stocked it and so we tried again. We were on the far side of the lake, and the only fish we saw was the one a big bird came and took out of the lake in front of us. As we were packing up we talked to the ranger and he said that we were too far from where the fish were placed. They are drugged for the car trip and it takes several days to get this far down the lake. Only another day of getting skunked. Way to go... maybe this week we will be successful and show the boys that it really is fun.

Easter

We went to the local easter egg hunt. It was fun to see all the kids and the eggs. They even had eggs that said you won a prize, which was a basket with coloring books, crayons, play dough and even more treats. Each age group one kid won a bike!! We didn't win a bike, but we did get the baskets for each kid. It was a fun day.

The easter bunny came to our house, and brought the boys tools in their easter basket. Needless to say it was a hit. I don't think that hammer has seen the toy box yet. He wants to take it everywhere. I love that this one is plastic, not like daddy's that he usually takes everywhere.

That evening we ate dinner with some friends. Brayden and Camden love McKenna and we are lucky she will babysit for us every once in a while. She was even cute to put an easter egg hunt together for them. No wonder they love her.

SPICE UP MY KITCHEN

One of our favorite shows on HGTV, is Spice Up My Kitchen. We love the transformations. This is a glimps of our transformation. Oh, In case you may not know, we purchased a foreclosure in January, we just moved in 2 weeks ago. It has taken a little under 8 weeks to redo all of the flooring in the whole house, paint every wall and ceiling, and to SPICE UP MY KITCHEN!!! We are so excited about all of the hard work that has gone into it. I am grateful for all of the help, the contractors, electricians and of course Justin.. the Demo man, Justin the plumber, Justin the electrician (installing about 15 new light fixtures), Justin the appliance installer, Justin the painter and oh yeah, Justin the Dentist, Father, and Husband. :)

Here is the AFTER:

We added a wall, New tile floors, took out the ceiling and drop lighting to add recess and under cabinet lighting. We also added New cabinets, new paint, new appliances, Tumbled slate backsplash, granite sink, new faucet, disposal, and of course new Quartz countertops. We are so excited with the final product. We have changed this entire house, it cracks me up. Brayden used to call it the YUCKY house, and now it is the BEAUTIFUL house.

Happy Conference!!

We are finally all moved in and it only took another week before we got all the appliances in, and working. We have all of the toilets functioning and all of the small things, including the internet and phone lines. I think it would have all worked out a little faster if we didn't always need to "Take a break". After we moved in and started getting into it, we took a quick trip with our friends the Wherities to their cabin on the lake. That was so fun to start fishing and get Brayden so excited about it.

The next weekend Justin had ODA (Oregon Dental Assoc. Conference) in Portland. We had fun going to the temple and spending time in the pool at the hotel while Justin was in conferences all day. When we got home it was General Conference, and we truely enjoyed it. However, it ended at 3:00 pacific time and so we decided to enjoy the beautiful weather and be in nature. We invited some of our friends to join us for a picnic dinner and time on the beautiful Oregon Beaches.

The boys just love being outside in nature. It is a real treat for us as well.

This is a picture of some of the rocks at low tide. Can you believe the Color? I think it is beautiful.

After hiking back to the car, we found this... a smashed in window. Yes, someone broke into our car to steal my purse and wallet. They must have been in a hurry because they neglected the GPS and Cell phone. I think this was a lesson for me. I felt a prompting to take my purse out of the car before we left. DO YOU THINK I LISTEN??? NO !! Sure enough, this is what happened. I think I find myself more frustrated at myself and not listening, more than I am about anything else. Hopefully everything will work out. If anyone reads this... Take note... listen to promptings.
