About

This blog started in 2007 as a place to explore Wesleyan theology and raise questions about United Methodism.

I am a 57-year-old nearly life-long Hoosier. I am an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church serving Sheridan First United Methodist Church in Sheridan, Indiana.

Over nearly 20 years, this blog has been many things and aimed at many different audiences. Starting in August of 2025, I began to explore its use as a tool for writing primarily for the congregation I serve, Sheridan First United Methodist Church. My hope is that it will become a place where I can encourage questions and provide answers that help them and others who read it grow in their faith.

I’ve kept all the posts from 2007 until today live for anyone who is interested in digging back into ancient history. Some of those older posts are quite good. Some I would revise if I went back to them again. Read them if you like. I thought they were important when I wrote them, so if you want to know more about my faith and how I think about it, this is a good place to dig around. Whatever use you make of this site, thank you for reading.
