The Less is More Challenge #383 wants dimension.  So I die-cut and layered this lovely Alexandra Renke Magic Poppy, 4 times, in red card stock.  Then I filled the apertures with molding paste, added ruby red EP and heat embossed while still wet.  The final white die-cut was heat embossed with Glitz EP and pasted over top.  This is for a special friend who just retired so I added beads and flower sequins.  The sentiment “Une Pensée pour Toi” (A thought for you) was stamped in smokey grey Versafine.

Another Christmas card 😛  to the CAS(E) this Sketch #295 Challenge.  I used cream coloured card stock to which I edged with a a Gummiapan stax square old paper die.  Yup “square“, so I cheated a little 😉 to keep the rectangle shape.  I took out my old paper crimpler, remember that thing?, to work the left upper corner after gold heat embossing with an IO script stamp.  The deep red poinsettia is a Tattered Lace die cut, the stamen was heat embossed in antique white …to match the paper.  A ruby coloured rhinestone along with gold thread were added to embellish.  This panel was matted to a deep red card stock.

Playing with the Color Throwdown #516 palette of Dark Teal, Rust and and Cream along with Amy’s beautiful Sketch at the Freshly Made Sketches # 360 Challenge.  Some cream coloured card stock using a MFT scalloped frames for the interior rectangle.  The oval was torn from Japanese paper and stamped with rust coloured ink and a Stamplorations Mixed Media  Grunge stamp.   The Alexandra Renke mushrooms were die cut, heat embossed with a teal EP and the rust specs were added to finish.  An eyelet was painted in the rusty colour along with copper thread.  That’s my take on these two challenges.

Jodi over at the Color Throwdown Challenge #515 has chosen the combo of green, kraft and white this week!  I made two cards but since I wasn’t sure that the first one, made using champagne and pesto EPs, respected the rules, well I went onto the second.  So my challenge card was die cut out of kraft card stock and embellished with green glitter.

We’re already half way through the month, time flys 😉  This month at CAS Mix Up our host is Mac, who has challenged us with the METAL theme, with videos to get you started.  There’s still plenty of time to play, the linky closes at midnight (PDST) on Wednesday the 24th of October.

For this card I used 2 stencils: one, sponging cracks through a circle mask; and the second, to apply molding paste for the old watch (see photo).  I added different metallic embossing powders and heat dried immediately.  Once done, I added some Glossy Accents to give a glass impression.  I added two heat embossed die-cuts, a gear from Memory Box and a tricycle from Tattered Lace.  “Prendre le temps” (taking the time) was stamped in black Versafine and clear heat embossed.

A white romantic wedding tag is my take for the Less is More Challenge #382.  I die-cut a MFT stitched tag out of white card stock and, using my gelli plate, I added some iridescent medium.  Then I laced this piece with the Sizzix Mix Media #2 thinlits, fussing cutting the bottom outer edge.  I added the topping out of a piece or Origami paper, silver heat embossed “Amour” 3 times and backed the tag with some Tengucho paper.  A silvery ribbon was attached to the top and the tag was pasted onto textured white card stock.

Fall here in the Laurentians are so colourful.  I went out for a walk and captured this image on my way:

Inspired by the Color Throwdown Challenge #514, I made gelli prints in orange, brown, rust and yellow.  Using the the Fall Foliage from Sizzix I cut, dry and heat embossed a wide variety of leaves.  Then using Karren‘s Freshly Made Sketch #358 I die two circles, one in vellum (painted yellow and orange), one in white card stock.  Both were stamped and white heat embossed.  The leaves were pasted at the bottom along with some rafia.  The Penny Black word die “thanks” was also cut in the prints.
