Mourning Gingko

Playing with the Color Throwdown Challenge #614. I thought I’d make this very simple IO die cut Gingko leaf using DOX inks and some embossing glaze. The back ground was stamped with a Unity cling rubber wood BG stamp in the khaki colour, clear heat embossed and ink blended. I also added some splatters and a little scoring.

Crafty bloom

The bright warm colours over at CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #391 inspired this card. Some masking, heat embossing, ink smooshing and die embossing were used in making this card. To embellish, I added a tiny pearl for the heart of the bloom. Nellie Snellen Multi frame photo dies and a Studio Light stamp were used for this project.

Precious Mushrooms

Gold and Cream, such a rich combo, so I just had to play again in the Color Hues Challenge #3 …to keep me sane! 😉 For this card I really wanted to use different shades of gold. The card stocks are from gold glitter, gold foiled and marbled gold papers. I also used some Delicata gold ink for the ink blending along with Gansai Tambi Starry Gold water colours for the shading and splatters. The die cuts are from Alexandra Renke and Nellie Snellen.

Have a great Sunday, thank you so much for stopping by, HUGz, Joanna

Row of Roses

Gold & Cream, …what a rich colour combo. That’s the Color Hues Challenge #3 for this week. I grabbed a pearly cream card base to stamp and gold heat embossed my row of Roses along with a thin line strip to the tune over at CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #392. The Penny Black word die was also gold heat embossed.

Falling Leaves

The rich fall colours over at the Color Throwdown Challenge #613 along with Jen M’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #455 were perfect for my falling leaves themed card. Some Brushos were sprinkled, leaving the red in the middle so as not to create mud, over a previously clear heated embossed crackle stamp white card base. This strip was fan folded with the help of a scoring board. Then some Waffle flower greenery BRUSHOed die cuts were added, along with solid coloured card stock and a little vellum. The PB “thanks” die word die were added for our Canadian Thanksgiving.

Stay SAFE & Happy Thanksgiving, our Autumns here in Canada are OH so colourful and magnificent, HUGz, Joanna

October CAS Mix Up 2020

Welcome back to a new CAS Mix Up “stencil” challenge hosted by Viv. Don’t forget to head back to the blog for inspiration from the design team, videos and our special guest Pat.

For this card I made two homemade stencils from dies (a Nellie Snellen frame die, which I first dry embossed onto the Bristol Paper and then used as a mask for the framing) A Memory Box Fresh Foliage die for the second stencil was used where I cut three branches from the positive piece to use as masking (to keep some white). I then used the negative to ink blend the leaves with some Peeled Paint DOX inks here and there. The Bonjour word die was cut and adhered 3 times in olive green card stock and topped with white card stock.

Hope to see you in our gallery, thanks so much for stopping by,
